Remember him: One of the forgotten veterans down and through the years was quarterback Charley Johnson, who spent nine seasons as a Cardinal and two as a Houston Oiler before finishing his career with four nice seasons in Denver. He would spend his Bronco days sharing quarterback duties with Steve Ramsey before the two of them would hand the job off to Craig Morton and begin the "Orange Crush" era. Johnson had three of his four best statistical years during his Bronco tenure, reaching his peak in 1974 with a passer rating of 84.5 and completing 55.7 percent of his passes. He was in the league for 15 years and went largely unnoticed outside his rooting areas, but fans in St. Louis and Denver remember Johnson well.
