FOXBORO, MA -- Patriots cornerback Ty Law suffered a hamstring injury that caused him to miss most of the second half during New England's 27-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts Thursday night, but told reporters after the game last night he expects to be ready to return against Arizona next Sunday.
Law was seen being worked on by trainers on the sideline but looked hobbled each time he got back into the game. Head coach Bill Belichick eventually decided to keep the veteran on the sideline.
"Ty tightened up a little bit there and was in and out," said Belichick after the game. "By the end he just couldn't go anymore."
It was obviously tough for Law, who was seen talking to Belichick on the sideline, with the cornerback appearing quite determined to get back into the game.
In the end Law said that although he lobbied hard to get back in his coach wouldn't budge.
"I was lobbying with Coach Belichick, but he won this one," Law told the Boston Globe. "The young guys we had out there really stepped up and we played 60 minutes of football and that's why we won the game."
Law will have plenty of time to rest as the Patriots now have over a week to prepare for Dennis Green's Arizona Cardinals, whom they will face a week from this Sunday in Arizona.
