It appears that tonight's game belongs to Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett, with 98.5 The Sports Hub reporting that Brady will be sitting out tonight's first exhibition game.
With Matt Light sidelined and rookie Nate Solder having not played a down of live football with the team just yet, it looks like head coach Bill Belichick decided he's not taking any chances this week and will be sitting the veteran quarterback.
Not that it matters. With an abbreviated preseason and no minicamps or OTA's, Belichick needs all the time he can get to evaluate the 90 players on the current roster. Granted many of them are longshots, but without a chance to emerge they wouldn't be able to find out if there's a gem among them.
Needless to say expect to see a lot from the younger guys tonight, and hopefully we'll see a few big plays from some of them.
