Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com pointed out an interesting (and scary) fact this morning, as the Patriots now have nine players on injured reserve thanks to Nick Kaczur's addition yesterday.
That total now has the Patriots among the tops in the NFL for number of players lost for the season, with only the Jacksonville Jaguars having lost more with 11.
For New England this season has been a tough one, as five of those nine players are either starters or guys who are generally a big part of the game plan on a week-to-week basis. They're without Leigh Bodden, Kevin Faulk, Kaczur, Brandon McGowan, and Ty Warren - all of which have left big holes to fill and is making this year quite an adjustment for the rest of their teammates.
As for the remaining players, those names include Josh Barrett, Bret Lockett (who was arrested recently), Darryl Richard, and Kade Weston.
Reiss points out that another team that has taken their fair share of hits are the Indianapolis Colts, who are tied with New England with 9 of their own on injured reserve.
