Dan Gronkowski has been cut by the Patriots, the team announced on Friday afternoon. Rob's older brother was here for only 16 days and this transaction leaves the Patriots with one tight-end for Sunday's game in Buffalo.
Aaron Hernandez was ruled out this week and the Patriots only have two other tight-ends on the team. Rob gronkowski, who will play and start, as well as Garrett Mills who is on the team's practice squad.
The team did not announce any corresponding roster move with Dan's release. I would estimate another TE, defensive back, or punter will take his place on the roster. Expect a move in the next 24 hours.
