Day 3 Mini-Camp<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Defense Wins the Day<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This from Mark Daniels of Mass Live: \u201cAll reps were taken deep in the red zone between the 2-and-12-yard lines. Maye started hot, going 6-of-10 with touchdown passes to Brown, Romeo Doubs, and tight end Eli Rairdon. He was soon 9-of-16 after hitting TreVeyon Henderson and Hunter Henry in the end zone.<\/p>\n

However, Maye finished 10-of-20 on the day as he went 1-of-4 in the final series. That included a highlight PBU by safety Kevin Byard, who ripped the ball out of Doubs\u2019 hands in the end zone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daniels also stated, \u201cBackup Tommy DeVito went 5-of-11 with touchdown passes to Efton Chism III, Jeremiah Webb, Tanner Arkin, and Kyle Williams. Rookie Behren Morton finished 4-of-9 with touchdowns to Jimmy Kibble and Kyle Dixon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thursday featured a lot of Red Zone work and there was a lot of trash talking going on, and this was as spirited a practice without pads.<\/p>\n

Maye Knocked to the Turf<\/strong><\/h4>\n

On what turned out to be the final play of practice, Drake Maye was hit by Bradon Swinson on a quick out to Brown for a TD. \u00a0Alex Barth posted on X, \u201cPractice ended a little early after Bradyn Swinson collided with Drake Maye during a team rep. It wasn\u2019t a full tackle, but the QB ended up on the ground and took a second to get up. Maye didn\u2019t check in with the trainers and is now throwing extra after practice. Looks OK. \u00a0Vrabel cut short the practice, eliminating the final reps for Tommy DeVito.<\/p>\n

Maye finished 10\/20 with 7 TDs (1 Rushing).<\/p>\n

Morgan Moses at Practice in Street Clothes<\/strong><\/h4>\n

He was seen working with Caleb Lomu and Jared Wilson when they weren\u2019t in the 11-on-11s.<\/p>\n

Pass Break-Ups<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Kevin Byard, Charles Woods, Carlton Davis and Brandon Crossley all had PBUs.<\/p>\n

Chad Muma Wears Green Dot <\/strong><\/h4>\n

With Robert Spillane being limited, Muma wore the Green Dot indicating he was making the Defensive calls.\u00a0 Muma and Khalil Jacobs had PBUs.<\/p>\n

Vera-Tucker Participated in First Scrimmage<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Alijah Vera-Tucker saw his 1st<\/sup> action in live scrimmage but was limited as Caleb Lomu got subbed in for him.\u00a0 Significant that Lomu is seeing 1st<\/sup> team reps at Guard.\u00a0 Looks like he will be the 1st<\/sup> man up if any starters go down.\u00a0 Getting the extra work can only help his development.<\/p>\n

Leonard Taylor Had Another Knockdown<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This is becoming a regular occurrence as Taylor knocked down another pass at the Line of Scrimmage.<\/p>\n

Tanner Arkin Catches TD Pass<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Working with the 3rd<\/sup> team and QM Behren Morton, Arkin scored a TD.\u00a0 He got extra playing because Jack Westover didn\u2019t participate in practice.<\/p>\n

Boutte Didn\u2019t Participate in 11-on-11s <\/strong><\/h4>\n

After surprisingly working with the 1st<\/sup> team in 11-on-11s in Tuesday’s practice, he was left out of the scrimmage altogether Thursday.\u00a0 He did have a spectacular catch in drills in the End Zone on an In Cut, catching the ball with one-hand and tapping bot feet inbounds in front of the Goal Post.<\/p>\n

Drake Maye Stays Late and Threw Some More <\/strong><\/h4>\n

I guess he is alright.\u00a0 He threw extra passes to AJ Brown, Efton Chism, Mack Hollins, and Romeo Doubs, according to Phil Perry.<\/p>\n

DeMario Douglas on Josh McDaniels Instructions<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll say [be] more savvy. Go out there and don\u2019t do what I see [on a piece of paper]. Go out there and add my swagger to it. He believes in me, and I appreciate him for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dead Zone <\/strong><\/h4>\n
