Here\u2019s what Andres Borregales had to say during his press conference on 7\/26\/2025:<\/em><\/p>\n

On how his first training camp has been going:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I’ve been going good. Really just trying to take it all in, really. You don’t get to do it many times, I guess you could say. I’m excited to be here. Just doing what the coaches need me to do.”<\/p>\n

On what his mindset is coming into this camp:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Really, I guess, just focus on the details, really. Also, again, like I said, just doing whatever the coaches need me to do. They need me to hit any type of kick, I’ll do it. Just be as versatile as possible.”<\/p>\n

On how he’s feeling coming off the field today:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I feel good. Every day is a work in process. That’s how I view it. Even if you go perfect in the day, there’s always something to work on. But just feeling good coming off the field today.”<\/p>\n

On if he can take us through the first two kicks, how long they were, and if he made one or both:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The first one was an extra point. Missed that one. Just a bad hit. That’s on me. Second one was a good hit. Wind took it, so I’m not sure if it went in or not. We’ll see. And then that one was around, high 30s? I don’t really remember the exact yardages, and then the other two were down the middle.”<\/p>\n

On the two he hit (50, 47) and if anything was different about the feel or approach there:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Really, it’s just, I guess, adapting. If you have a bad hit, be able to kind of recognize what went wrong and apply it on the next kick.”<\/p>\n

On getting drafted with a long-snapper and the fact they had a relationship, and if that was from the pre-draft process, and how they met:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We did pre-draft together. We were together since January, and then we just ended up happening to be drafted to the same team. So that was awesome.”<\/p>\n

On how much that helps:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Tremendously. Because I already know how he snaps and his tendencies and everything. And obviously, that relationship, that chemistry is there.”<\/p>\n

On how he would evaluate his first full week here, and what he needs to look at to say he’s had a good week:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Really, just, at the end of the day, if you make a kick, you’re good. If you miss it, you’re bad. So on paper, it’s really just good makes and then no goods. But for me, it’s really just focusing on my technique. If I was good, even if I missed it, if I hit a… Like today, I hit a good ball, wind, took it. I can’t do nothing about that. But at least what I can control is doing good.”<\/p>\n

On if he would say the coaches are drilling in a ‘one-play-at-a-time’ mentality:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Yeah, I mean, I’ve always had that mentality as well. But it’s really an emphasis, especially as a kicker. Just one play, that’s it. That’s all you get. Now onto the next. Even if you make or miss, it doesn’t matter. On to the next.”<\/p>\n

On the fact that during the spring sessions, he was 19-of-20 and didn’t miss much, and how much confidence that gives him in his first training camp:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Really, it’s just as a kicker, you kind of have to go out there with a little bit of confidence. Me, personally, I like to just think of every single kick as a game-winning kick, I guess you could say. Really, it’s going, I think you said 18 for 19?…”<\/p>\n

It’s like 19 or 20, Something like that.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But based off of that, you look back, you’re like, ‘All right, you’re doing good.’ But for me, I felt good. My technique felt good. Again, just doing what the coaches need me to do.”<\/p>\n

On it being such a cut and dry black and white world as he said earlier, how he maintains confidence:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Again, just trusting your technique. At the end of the day, not a robot. I could miss some, but at the end of the day, you just got to kind of have short term memory, really, even if you make it, just onto the next.”<\/p>\n

On if there is anything that Coach Springer has done to tweak or adjust, or if it’s just a matter him doing what got him here:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“It’s really a two-way street. If I have something that I’ve been doing for a while, he listens. If he has some ideas or anything, he’ll tell me, and then I’ll try it out. If it works, I’ll do it. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. But it’s really a two-way road and just handling it as adults, really.”<\/p>\n
