Ty Law reportedly has agreed to a 7-year contract with the Patriots, including a $14.2 million signing bonus — one of the largest signing bonuses in the history of the league.<\/p>\n
Law, 25, who was a first-round draft choice in 1995 (23rd overall), has been working with New England on a contract extension now for the past few months, but the issue has always been over the size of his signing bonus. It certainly would appear that the Pro Bowl corner has got what he wanted, and now QB Drew Bledsoe won’t have to worry about giving up part of his salary.<\/p>\n
Terms of the remainder of the deal have yet to be disclosed.<\/p>\n
The signing of Law will now allow the Patriots to focus on signing Lawyer Milloy who will become a free agent at the end of this season.
