The Senior Bowl is this afternoon at 2:30 on NFL Network.\u00a0 I suspect many of the players will opt out of the actual game itself.\u00a0 Most of the scouts and team execs have left Mobile and they will get a copy of the all-22 game film to evaluate the players that played.\u00a0 Their work is basically done after witnessing the three days of practice.<\/p>\n

Here are Dane Brugler’s (NFL.com) Top Players of the Week<\/strong><\/p>\n

Quarterback: Tyler Shough, Louisville<\/p>\n

Running back: Devin Neal, Kansas<\/p>\n

Wide receiver: Jaylin Noel, Iowa State<\/p>\n

Tight end: Elijah Arroyo, Miami<\/p>\n

Offensive tackle: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon<\/p>\n

Overall Player of the Week \u2013 Grey Zabel OL North Dakota State.\u00a0 This award was voted on by the 32 NFL execs in attendance.\u00a0 Zabel was dominant all week at all three, line positions. He is now a late 1st<\/sup> Round \/ early 2nd<\/sup> round pick.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, I don\u2019t have all the award winner and can\u2019t wait for the official posting before I need to publish this article.<\/p>\n

My Favorite players of the week for the Patriots.<\/p>\n

Jaylin Royals WR Utah State<\/strong> \u2013 He is 5\u2019113\/8 <\/sup>210-pounds and runs a 4.38 40 yard dash.\u00a0 Royals missed half the year this past season with a foot injury and he used the Senior Bowl to re-establish himself as a top 100 player.\u00a0 Royals can play inside or out wide.<\/p>\n

Jack Bech WR TCU<\/strong> \u2013 Nasty is the word to describe him.\u00a0 The 6\u20192\u201d 214-pound receiver won every 50\/50 ball and showed surprisingly clean releases off press coverage.\u00a0 No DB wanted to go against him.\u00a0 What sealed the deal for me is Bech blocking ability.\u00a0 Whether a crackback or a downfield block to spring a receiver, he was very willing and impressive.<\/p>\n

Jalin Noel WR Iowa State<\/strong> \u2013 5\u201993\/4\u201d <\/sup>\u00a0196-pounds sub 4.5 speed.\u00a0 He was uncoverable all week.\u00a0 Many refer him to a Josh McDaniels type of slot receiver.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0One drawback is that he has small hands, but that didn\u2019t stop him from catching everything thrown to him in Mobile.<\/p>\n

Anthony Belton OT North Carolina State<\/strong>– The massive 6\u2019 5 3\/8<\/sup>\u201d 345-pound Right Tackle didn\u2019t look great on film from this past season.\u00a0 Who was this guy that showed up in Mobile?\u00a0 Belton played left Tackle against a great collection of edge rushers and looked terrific.\u00a0 He made a lot of money this week with his good showing.\u00a0 He went from a probable 4-6th<\/sup> round pick to as high as a 2nd<\/sup> round pick.\u00a0 \u00a0Depending on how the Patriots approach Free Agency and filling the OT needs on this team, Belton just may here his named called by the Patriots.<\/p>\n

Grey Zabel OL North Dakota State<\/strong> \u2013 I don\u2019t expect the Patriots to go for an Interior Olineman, but if they did, Zabel is the top player.\u00a0 I could see Zabel starting at C as a rookie.\u00a0 David Andrews is at the end of the line and may or may not make the team this year.<\/p>\n

Jalen Rivers OT Miami \u2013 Rivers had a solid week, but the intriguing things about him is his extremely long arms.\u00a0 The 6\u20195\u201d 325=pound lineman has 35\u201d long arms.\u00a0 He is able to keep pass rushers away from his body and easily ride then away from the QB.\u00a0 New patriots O-line coach Doug Marrone is said to be enamored with lineman with long arms.<\/p>\n

Willie Lampkins OL North Carolina<\/strong> \u2013 Lampkins stood out to me because of the two reps he had against massive 6\u20197\u201d 345-pound DT Deone Walker.\u00a0 Lampkins stonewalled him at the Line of Scrimmage.\u00a0 Lampkin stands just 5\u201910 \u00be\u201d\u00a0 and between 270 and 288 pounds.\u00a0 Extremely undersized for a D1 Olineman, nevermind the NFL.\u00a0 However he has a lot of junk yard dog in him, and I could see him playing multiple position on game day from extra blocker on the line, a Fullback, Special Teams player.\u00a0 Josh McDaniels has always had a Fullback in his offense.\u00a0 A player that can play multiple positions would be very valuable.<\/p>\n

Darius Alexander DL Toledo<\/strong> \u2013 Another player that was projected as a 3rd<\/sup> day pick and he has now boosted himself up into a Day 2 pick. The 6\u20194\u201d 310=pound lineman can play outside and move inside as a pass rusher.\u00a0 If the Patriots are going to a 4-3 based defense a player like Alexander would be ideal.\u00a0 He has 4.8 speed which is very good for a 310-pound lineman.<\/p>\n

Mike Green EDGE Marshall<\/strong> \u2013 He was the best pass rusher at the Senior Bowl.\u00a0 Most observers will highlight he bull rush of Josh Conerly, one of the Practice Players of the Week (voted by his peers).\u00a0 Conerly was played at Right Tackle, not his natural position and he was surprised by Green\u2019s bull rush.\u00a0 Green, known for his finesse moves, surprised Conerly with the bull rush and he knocked him on his butt.\u00a0 Green has solidified his position as a 1st<\/sup> round selection.\u00a0 His 17 sacks this season were not a fluke nor was it playing against inferior competition.\u00a0 If Abdul Carter is gone by the time it\u2019s the Patriots turn to select, I would be in favor of trading back and taking Green.\u00a0 \u00a0Green showed up 10 pounds heavier at 6\u20193\u201d 251 pounds.<\/p>\n

Shemar Stewart DL Texas A&M<\/strong> – \u00a0he put on a show here in Mobile and after two days he left after securing his 1st<\/sup> Round grade.\u00a0 The Patriots have no chance of getting him unless they are willing to trade back into the 1st<\/sup> round.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
