New England Patriots<\/strong><\/a> second-year cornerback Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport security attempting to carry on two unregistered handguns on a flight on Friday. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jones will be arraigned on Tuesday.\u00a0 The charges will carry a minimum of 2.5 years to a maximum of 10 years.\u00a0 Jones has a history of trouble which caused him to drop to the fourth round in last year\u2019s draft.<\/p>\n

Jones committed to USC in 2016.\u00a0 He was a five-star recruit and ranked #19 in the class of 2016.\u00a0 He played two seasons for USC and was dismissed from the team for academic reasons before the start of his junior season.<\/p>\n

On June 8, 2018, Jones was arrested at a\u00a0Panda Express\u00a0in\u00a0Santa Paula, California, for commercial burglary. \u00a0He pled guilty to commercial burglary, a second-degree misdemeanor, and served 45 days of house arrest.<\/p>\n

Attended Moorpark College in 2018 and raised his grades to be eligible for Division I again.<\/p>\n

2019 Enrolled at Arizona State to play for Herm Edwards.\u00a0 In 2020, he was suspended indefinitely by Arizona State in November after playing just 2 games.\u00a0 Jones returned as a grad student and played all of 2021.<\/p>\n

The Patriots selected Jones in the fourth round of the 2022 draft.<\/p>\n

Jones is facing a number of charges, including possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card.\u00a0 He is also being charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.<\/p>\n

Jones put together an impressive rookie season with the Patriots in 2022, posting two interceptions, six pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 30 tackles in 13 games.<\/p>\n

He suffered a knee injury in week 13, which forced him to miss the next few games.\u00a0 Jones was then suspended by the team for the last two games.\u00a0 According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Jones was suspended for \u201cbeing late to rehab sessions.”<\/p>\n

We have seen the last of Jack Jones, a promising young player.\u00a0 The Official statement of the Patriots is that they are aware of the situation and investigating.\u00a0 At a minimum, Jack Jones is facing a league suspension.\u00a0 Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty but this is pretty cut and dry.<\/p>\n

How stupid can one person be?\u00a0 The traits that make him a top-notch corner also work against him in real life.\u00a0 He thinks he is above the law and invincible.\u00a0 He is a thug pure and simple. There is no place for him on the Patriots team.\u00a0 He is a cancer and needs to be cut out.\u00a0 I\u2019m actually surprised it hasn\u2019t happened yet!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jones leaves the Patriots in a lurch.\u00a0 He was projected to be the starting Right Cornerback.\u00a0 \u00a0This spring he was at times spectacular.\u00a0 I noted in a previous article that Jack Jones had at least one Pass Breakup in each of the sessions that were opened to the media.<\/p>\n
