The Patriots made a move on Tuesday night to at least bring back one key player on their defense, with the club bringing back safety Jabrill Peppers.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the veteran reportedly signed a 2-year deal<\/strong><\/a> worth $6 million in guaranteed money with a maximum value of $11 million based on incentives.<\/p>\n

He was a productive player in New England’s defense in his first season with the team.\u00a0 He finished 2022 with 52 tackles including 2 tackles for a loss and a fumble recovery.\u00a0 He also had eight special teams tackles.<\/p>\n

The biggest thing that made Peppers a fan favorite is the fact that he’s not shy when it comes to contact, and is arguably one of the more physical players on the roster when it comes to making big hits defensively.<\/p>\n

Keeping Peppers on the team helps at least keep the remainder of the nucleus intact for a group that saw Devin McCourty recently retire<\/strong><\/a>, which now at least finds the Patriots with one less player they would have potentially had to replace heading into 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
