Former New England Patriots<\/strong><\/a> wide receiver Julian Edelman turned NFL media star Julian Edelman stopped by Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast this week.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a lengthy interview, Edelman touched upon a few topics around his former team ranging from Bill O’Brien’s return as offensive coordinator to how Bill Belichick pumps his team up before games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Edelman shared the following\u00a0<\/span>comment<\/span><\/a>\u00a0about the Patriots’ decision to bring in O’Brien to help fix the offense, explaining his positive impact on the Houston Texans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe brought the Houston Texans, who are like the most irrelevant organization since he left, to the playoffs four years in a row. I think it\u2019s a great move for [them]. He understands the standard.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor any other organization, that\u2019s really cool. That\u2019s good. And then they kick him out the door, and now look at them the last few years. It\u2019s been terrible. He singlehandedly developed Deshaun Watson. He made Deshaun Watson a $250 million quarterback.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Barstool hosts later referenced Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirriani after learning he played the\u00a0<\/span>rap battle<\/span><\/a>\u00a0scene from the end of \u201c8 Mile” before their divisional round victory against the New York Giants last week to get his team fired up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So what does Belichick do to pump up his teams?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019s (Belichick) not a \u201crah-rah guy,\u201d Edelman\u00a0<\/span>said<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe would give us highlight clips, like a cut-up of old situations of that same situation. Or old games of that game. I\u2019m talking like, old tape,\u201d Edelman continued. \u201cLike, not even Patriots (expletive). He would show us New York Giants. Like, \u2018This is how you do it. Watch (Lawrence Taylor!)\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe would bring in all these clips and give a breakdown and then he would have a speech. He would point guys out like, \u2018Matthew Slater, no one ever wanted you. You weren\u2019t even supposed to be drafted.\u2019 Then he would go down the line. He\u2019d say, \u2018This is why you were brought here. For this game.\u2019 He was good. He was just different with it. It wasn\u2019t like a rah-rah guy, but he would give you facts and teach you on something. Then you\u2019d be get like, \u2018Oh (expletive), that fires me up.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Lastly, another notable soundbite from the interview\u00a0<\/span>addressed<\/span><\/a>\u00a0his playing future. Edelman once and for all put to bed any possibilities for a return, despite the recent jokes\/trolling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>“I’m done, boys. You can’t be two years out of the game coming in at 37 with knee braces and taped ankles thinking you’re going to go out here and compete against these young bucks.”<\/span><\/p>\n
