Rather than repeat the depth chart for the Jets I will analyze what they have done since they lost to the Patriots and why I think the Jets are a real threat to beat the Patriots in Gillette.\u00a0\u00a0 You cannot ignore the fact that the Patriots have beaten the Jets 13 straight times.\u00a0\u00a0 This is the NFL, and streaks like that don\u2019t happen often.\u00a0 The Patriots are more probable to lose this game.<\/p>\n

Jets Defense <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Jets are a good team, particularly on Defense.\u00a0\u00a0 That front four will put pressure on Mac Jones.\u00a0 Our offensive line is not good enough to prevent that.\u00a0 Quinnen Williams is one of the most disruptive Defensive Tackles in the league.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t just me talking but Bill Belichick compared him to Aaron Donald.\u00a0 The Jets put pressure on the QB with just the 4 down linemen allowing 7 to drop in coverage.\u00a0 Don\u2019t be surprised to see some exotic blitzes from the Jets.\u00a0 That would be counter to any of the Patriots’ tendencies.\u00a0 CJ Mosely is a very instinctive Inside Linebacker.\u00a0 He was calling out the Patriots’ plays based on the Patriots’ formations before they were run.\u00a0 It was like he was in the huddle!\u00a0 The Jets’ secondary is very good and led by Sauce Gardner.\u00a0 The rookie from Cincinnati is a leading candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year.\u00a0 \u00a0The Jets’ defense may be the 1st<\/sup> team in NFL history to rank in the top 10 in scoring & total defense the season after ranking last in both.<\/p>\n

Patriots Offensive Line<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Having David Andrews back will help tremendously. \u00a0Will the Patriots start Isaiah Wynn at Left Guard or will they give Cole Strange another shot?\u00a0 See the Answer below!\u00a0 The Patriots’ Offense coaching staff does not have enough imagination or skill to coach the various positions. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Patricia is spending way too much time coaching the offense and not enough with the real problem, the offensive line.<\/p>\n

The Patriots Schedule \u00a0 <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Patriots will not get the usual boost from having the bye week.\u00a0 The NY Jets were also given the same bye week.\u00a0 That is extremely unfair.\u00a0 They do get a home-field advantage.\u00a0 Looking forward to the second-half schedule, which is brutal and the worst in the league, they have 3 games in 12 days.\u00a0 Next week, at Minnesota Vikings on Thanksgiving, is very tough to win.\u00a0 They don\u2019t get the boost of a mini bye of playing on Thursday because they play Buffalo on a Thursday at home.\u00a0 This stretch could make or break their season.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t get any easier with Las Vegas and Arizona on the road.\u00a0 Las Vegas is a Monday Night game that gives them 10 days off.\u00a0 Their final 3 games are Cincinnati and Miami at home and Buffalo on the road.<\/p>\n

Zach Wilson Redemption<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Don\u2019t count on three interceptions thrown by Zach Wilson.\u00a0 When he has played clean, without turnovers, the Jets have won.\u00a0 In 4 of the Jets’ last 5 wins, Wilson has thrown no interceptions.\u00a0 Keep him clean and he can manage the game.\u00a0 \u00a0They are 6-3 and beat the Buffalo Bills the week after the Patriots beat the Jets in the Meadowlands. \u00a0That made the Patriots’ win that much more important and impressive.\u00a0 Wilson was 18 completions on 25 passes for 154 yards and a TD.\u00a0 The Jets only gave up 2 sacks.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget a roughing the passer penalty called back a pick-six by the Jets.\u00a0 That play turned the game completely around.<\/p>\n

Jets Run Game <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The wheels fell off the bus when the Jets lost Rookie RB Breece Hall the week before the Patriots game.\u00a0 Against the Bills, the Jets starter Michael Carter ran 12 times for 76 yards.\u00a0 Backup James Robinson, acquired from Jacksonville during the week of practice leading up to the Patriots game ran 13 times for 48 yards.\u00a0 They averaged a combined 4.96 yards per carry.\u00a0 The Jets’ offense was very balanced.\u00a0 The Jets were only 5 of 13 on 3r down but 2-2 on 4th<\/sup> down.<\/p>\n

Patriots are in the last playoff spot<\/strong><\/h3>\n

That\u2019s great, but it\u2019s unsustainable.\u00a0 The Patriots have actually played better than I thought they would.\u00a0 Mac Jones has been under constant pressure because of a porous offensive line and predictable play-calling.\u00a0 It\u2019s conceivable the Patriots could lose all their remaining games.\u00a0 Las Vegas and Arizona are games they will likely win.\u00a0 I believe the Jets will beat the Patriots on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Offensive line woes continue <\/strong><\/h3>\n

It was reported today that Trent Brown was limited in practice today and Isaiah Wynn filled in at LT.\u00a0 That meant that Cole Strange was back at LG and Yodny Cajuste at RT.<\/p>\n

Comings and Goings<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Lil\u2019Jordan Humphries has plummeted to earth.\u00a0 The surprise out of training camp was released from the Practice Squad this week.\u00a0 DeMarcus Mitchell missed practice on Wednesday due to Illness.\u00a0 It was also reported that Ty Montgomery isn\u2019t coming back this season.\u00a0 He suffered a shoulder injury against Miami in the opening game and just had surgery on it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
