The Patriots reached the midweek point of the second week of training camp, but unlike the first two days, intensity took a step back as the players reverted to shells and shorts with no padding. For most of the morning session, 11-on-11 drills were the primary focus despite the no contact.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019ll be in shells and try to clean up a few things from the last couple of days that need to be worked out and get back at it,\u201d Belichick explained<\/a> at his morning press conference. When asked what he wanted to work through, Belichick replied, \u201cEverything. Just a lot of communication, techniques, adjustments.\u201d<\/p>\n Absent from practice were tight Dalton Keene and cornerback Malcolm Butler.<\/p>\n On offense, quarterback Mac Jones bounced back after struggles to begin the week. He completed<\/a> 15\/17 passes, beginning with 12 in a row.\u00a0Bailey Zappe went 19\/25 on the day.<\/p>\n Kristian Wilkerson hauled in a 30-yard pass<\/a> from Zappe despite tight coverage from Shaun Wade down the sideline. He had a team-high six receptions across both 7-on-7s and 11-on-11s. Jakobi Meyers also put together a solid morning, logging four receptions on four targets.
