On Monday, the annual Boston Marathon, at last, made its return to the New England region following a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

Although traditionally scheduled for April, the 125th event took place on Monday and former Patriot and three-time Super Bowl champion James Develin was one of the thousands of participants, running as a member of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation team.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a surreal experience,\u201d Develin later told<\/a> WBZ-TV\u2019s Eric Fisher after finishing. \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to expect. This was my first experience at the marathon and it was absolutely awesome from Mile 1 to 26.2. It was a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to WBZ, the 33-year-old Develin completed the course in 4:27:17.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of his run, Develin posted some photographs recapping his day over Instagram.<\/p>\n
