2021 Pre-Training Camp 53 Man Roster Projection<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0Roster \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Total\u00a0\u00a0 53\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 8\/2\/2021<\/strong><\/p>\n Offense 24<\/strong><\/p>\n QUARTERBACK (2) <\/strong>\u00a0 Cam Newton, Mac Jones<\/p>\n Newton will start and play until his performance forces BB to go to Jones, or Jones demonstrates a phenomenal grasp of the playbook in Pre-Season.\u00a0 Belichick stated this week that Cam Newton is his starting QB.\u00a0 Newton has consistently been running with the 1st team offense and throwing against the 1st team defense.\u00a0 Jones has been facing the 2nd teamers but has been throwing to players that won’t be on the team. Let’s see what happens when the pads are on.<\/p>\n Stidham IR, Hoyer PS<\/p>\n RUNNING BACK (5) <\/strong>\u00a0 JJ Taylor, Sony Michel, Damien Harris, James White, Rhamondre Stevenson<\/p>\n Despite being 31 years old, Brandon Bolden will get cut, stick around, and then added back to the roster because of his Special Teams play.\u00a0 Someone will go on IR and Bolden will be re-signed.\u00a0 White can play WR if needed.\u00a0 \u00a0 Watch how that develops. I originally had Michel being traded, but that would depend upon the play of Stevenson, who has just recently come off the Non-Football Injury list.\u00a0 Watch to see if Stevenson plays on special teams.\u00a0 That may make Bolden expendable.<\/p>\n PS \u2013 Gaffney if he shows he can play<\/p>\n FULLBACK (0<\/strong>) None<\/p>\n When the Patriots signed the double-headed monster of Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry it made the fullback position obsolete. Johnson will be cut and signed to the PS. \u00a0They will not keep his International Player exemption so that he could be activated if needed.<\/p>\n Jakub Johnson PS<\/p>\n WIDE RECEIVER (5) <\/strong>Jakobi Myers, Gunner Olszewski, Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, TBD (Wilkerson, Zuber, Nixon).\u00a0 Learning towards Wilkerson.<\/p>\n Harry is saying all the right things and working hard in training camp.\u00a0 By doing this he improves his chances of being traded.\u00a0 I still think he gets traded.\u00a0 Tre Nixon, Kristian Wilkerson, and Isaiah Zuber fight for one remaining spot.\u00a0 Can any of these players play Special Teams which could separate them from the others and make the difference?\u00a0 I am interested to see if Olszewski can play in the slot.\u00a0 The first four are locks.\u00a0 I’m leaning towards Wilkerson because early reports have said he is catching everything thrown at him.\u00a0 Those were the same reports coming out of Titans camp last year’s pre-season.<\/p>\n Marvin Hall is just a camp body and will be cut.<\/p>\n TIGHT END (4)<\/strong> Jonnu Smith, Devin Asiasi, Hunter Henry, Dalton Keene<\/p>\n Troy Fumagalli, David Wells, and Matt LaCrosse are cut.\u00a0 With so much emphasis on 2 TE sets, I think they carry 4.\u00a0 Asiasi could be the fullback if needed.\u00a0 Asiasi hasn’t practiced yet and is on PUP.<\/p>\n OFFENSIVE LINE (8)<\/strong>, Michael Owenu, Shaq Mason, Justin Herron, Isaiah Wynn, Trent Brown, Ted Karras, David Andrews, Alex Redmond<\/p>\n I just don\u2019t think Sherman is big enough for Tackle.\u00a0 I go with a guy that has NFL experience in Redmond.\u00a0 \u00a0Will Sherman, Marcus Martin, Korey Cunningham Najee Toran, Jodny Cajuste, Jerald Hawkins are cut and Cajuste and Sherman are brought back via PS.\u00a0\u00a0 We haven\u2019t seen anything from Cajuste, and don\u2019t know if he can play?\u00a0 Marcus Martin has been getting Karras\u2019 snaps since he was injured.\u00a0 Need to watch that situation.<\/p>\n Defense 25<\/strong><\/p>\n DEFENSIVE TACKLE (5)<\/strong>, Davon Godchaux, Henry Anderson, Montavious Adams, Lawrence Guy, Christian Barmore<\/p>\n I gave Montavious Adams the nod because he is more of an NT.\u00a0 Byron Cowart, Akeem Spence, Bill Murray, Nick Thurman Carl Davis are cut with Cowart, Murray, Thurman, and Spence coming back via the PS.\u00a0 Davis has a history of concussions.<\/p>\n DEFENSIVE END (3) <\/strong>Chase Winowich, Detrick Wise, Ronnie Perkins<\/p>\n Cut Rashod Berry and Tashon Bowers, with both eligible for the PS.\u00a0 Wise can slip into DT on passing downs.<\/p>\n LINEBACKER (6) <\/strong>\u00a0 Josh Uche, Donta Hightower, Matt Judon, Afernee Jennings, Kyle Van Noy, Raekwon McMillan,<\/p>\n I keep McMillan over Bentley.
