The past two years have absolutely horrible in terms of production at the position. After a combined 36 catches at the position in 2019, the team drafted two tight ends, Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene, who, combined with Ryan Izzo (Matt LaCosse opted out) managed only 18 catches in 2020. Yuck.

So, things had to change in 2020. And to be fair to Asiasi and Keene, rookie tight ends rarely make a big splash in the NFL. With his draft position (99th overall) in 2020, I believe he’s a lock for this season.

A very good blocker and pass receiver, Asiasi may not see a ton of reps because of the top two acquisitions, but he should be much improved in 2021. Not so fast.

He’s known as a blocking tight end and was a backup in Denver, but the former 5th round draft pick in 2018 could find a niche as the backup blocking tight end.
