Let’s look at the news around the league about the upcoming draft.<\/p>\n

Who will SF take at #3? <\/strong><\/p>\n

From the moment of the trade, the rumors came out that the 49\u2019ers were taking Alabama QB, Mac Jones.\u00a0 The media were pounding this theory for weeks.\u00a0 Now that we are days away, we are hearing that SF’s decision is down to Mac Jones or Trey Lance.\u00a0 According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, SF\u2019s 1st<\/sup> selection has been leaked every year under GM John Lynch.\u00a0 This might be a great smokescreen or they are testing what the 49\u2019ers fans prefer.<\/p>\n

Patriots Interest in Justin Fields<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fields conducted a 2nd<\/sup> Pro Day with a scripted series of throws.\u00a0 Albert Breer reported that offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels led the New England Patriots<\/strong><\/a>’ contingent and assistant director of player personnel Dave Ziegler and national scout Matt Groh. Jets, 49\u2019ers, Falcons, Panthers, Broncos, and Patriots were all in attendance.<\/p>\n

Who will take Florida TE Kyle Pitts?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pitts is a superior athlete, no question.\u00a0 What Kyle Pitts is not, is a TE.\u00a0 He is a big WR with no inline blocking skills of a traditional NFL TE.\u00a0 They refer to this position is called a Move TE.\u00a0 Aaron Hernandez started this new position.\u00a0 What Florida did was create mismatches with Pitts overwhelming LBs trying to cover him.\u00a0 Pitts will do some of that in the Pros but not to the extent he did in college.\u00a0 Atlanta is rumored to be interested in selecting him if they can\u2019t trade out of the position.<\/p>\n

Patriots Inquiring about Picks in the Top Ten<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Patriots are doing their due diligence about moving up into the top ten.\u00a0 \u00a0Some are speculating this is to select Justin Fields.\u00a0 I think they are just gauging what it would take to move up for any player they may like, such as a Defensive player.\u00a0 They traded back in 2008 from 7 to 10 to select Jerod Mayo.\u00a0 This is just one of many draft scenarios to watch.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Philly falls in love<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rumor has it that the Eagle s have fallen in love with Michigan DE Kwitty Paye.<\/p>\n

Las Vegas to cut DE Carl Nassib<\/strong><\/p>\n

That\u2019s today’s rumor out of Sin City.\u00a0 Why are they waiting until Draft Week to make this move?\u00a0 Peter King thinks it will be a trade for the underperforming\/overpriced Nassib.\u00a0 I can see where his price tag ($7.5M in 2020) may scare teams away and the Raiders will have no choice but to cut him.<\/p>\n

Caleb Farley had 2nd back disk surgery<\/strong><\/p>\n

This sounds a little like the Rob Gronkowski situation when the Patriots took him in the 22nd<\/sup> round.\u00a0 Gronkowski also missed his entire junior season due to back surgery.\u00a0 When he declared for the draft after his Junior year, it was quite the quandary for NFL GMs.\u00a0 Farley’s situation is very similar.\u00a0 Farley had the surgery in March and it\u2019s the second season in a row he has had back surgery.\u00a0 Farley also had ACL surgery in 2017.\u00a0 I don\u2019t have him going in the 1st<\/sup> round because of the injury history.<\/p>\n

Denver interested in Teddy Bridgewater <\/strong><\/p>\n

Noise coming out of Denver suggests a trade for Carolina QB Teddy Bridgewater.\u00a0 Ye cost would only be a mid-round draft pick.<\/p>\n

Dolphins may shake up the Draft with OT selection at #6<\/strong><\/p>\n

The word from South Florida is that the Phins are moving RT Robert Hunt to Guard.\u00a0 This leaves the possibility they will draft OT Penni Sewell.\u00a0 This would only happen if the Bengals pass on Sewell and take Joe Burrows LSU teammate J\u2019Marr Chase.\u00a0 I believe Chase has been Miami\u2019s target ever since they made the trades.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Also don\u2019t be surprised if Miami trades out of this slot to a team hungry for a QB, thus blocking the Patriots from getting a QB.<\/p>\n

Second-tier QBs may be gone by the end of Round 2 <\/strong><\/p>\n

I had been predicting the three second-tier QBs (Kyle Trask, Kellen Mond, and Davis Mills) will be gone by pick 75.\u00a0 I saw a report today that says they all could be selected by pick 64!<\/p>\n
