{"id":35967,"date":"2021-03-15T16:04:48","date_gmt":"2021-03-15T20:04:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.patsfans.com\/patriots\/blog\/?p=35967"},"modified":"2021-03-15T16:04:48","modified_gmt":"2021-03-15T20:04:48","slug":"patriots-agree-to-terms-with-db-jalen-mills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patsfans.com\/patriots\/blog\/2021\/03\/15\/patriots-agree-to-terms-with-db-jalen-mills\/","title":{"rendered":"Patriots Agree to Terms with DB Jalen Mills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New England added another player to their defense on Monday, agreeing to terms with Eagles free-agent defensive back Jalen Mills.<\/p>\n<p>According to ESPN&#8217;s Adam Schefter, Mills <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/1371537813339013126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>agreed to a 4-year deal<\/strong><\/a> worth $24-million including $9-million guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>Mills provides some versatility to New England&#8217;s defense, having played both cornerback and safety during his tenure in Phildelphia.\u00a0 He played in 15 games last season, finishing with 1.5 sacks and an interception, as well as 74 tackles.<\/p>\n<p>He was a free agent prior to the start of last season and signed a one-year, $4-million deal to stay with the Eagles. This time around, he&#8217;s obviously received a pretty good raise to come to New England.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the third contract given to a Drew Rosenhaus represented player to sign with the Patriots on Monday, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patsfans.com\/patriots\/blog\/2021\/03\/15\/patriots-agree-to-terms-with-titans-te-jonnu-smith\/\"><strong>tight end<\/strong><\/a> Jonnu Smith and <a
