Senior Bowl Public Relations sent out the practice film late Tuesday Night so any reports have been delayed by a day.\u00a0 This is what I have been able to put together so far.<\/p>\n
1) The importance of the Senior Bowl week for Georgia QB Jamie Newman cannot be understated.\u00a0 He opted out of the season and he needs a big week.\u00a0 Several reports had him playing surprising well (ie; no rust).\u00a0 Another player that opted out was Washington DT Levi Onwuzurike.\u00a0 Early reports had him dominating.\u00a0 However he came up lame with a hip injury.\u00a0 Don\u2019t know how much he will play the rest of the week.<\/p>\n
2) Florida QB Kyle Trask dropped out due to an ankle injury.\u00a0 That was unfortunate for him.\u00a0 He needed a big week to get back into the top QB discussions.<\/p>\n
3) Most scouts are very suspicious of what we will call one year wonders.\u00a0 In some cases like Alabama\u2019s Mac Jones, he had to wait his turn behind two excellent QB\u2019s.\u00a0 He performed magnificently for the National Champs.\u00a0 However, many scouts attribute that to the outstanding cast of players around him.\u00a0 I for one don\u2019t think that was the case.\u00a0 His decision making, quick release, touch on the pass and completion percentage was terrific.\u00a0 On Day one QB\u2019s are usually very conservative, finding their groove.\u00a0 They are throwing to unfamiliar WR\u2019s from other teams. \u00a0This was evident by a big pass play downfield to Georgia TE Tre McKitty.<\/p>\n
4) Cincinnati OT James Hudson is making a name for himself down at the Senior Bowl.\u00a0 He is a player to watch.\u00a0 He transferred from Michigan and had to sit out a year by NCCA rule.\u00a0 Another unheralded OL is Grambling\u2019s David Jones, the 6\u20193\u201d 350 lb behemoth.\u00a0 \u00a0He is described as nasty with an \u201cF-U\u201d attitude.\u00a0 He is quite nimble for his size.<\/p>\n
5) Every single report I have seen raves about Dwayne Eskeridge WR from Western Michigan.\u00a0 He is 5\u20199\u201d 190 converted RB.\u00a0 He has only played WR for one season.\u00a0 Even the CB\u2019s are talking about him.\u00a0 Not only is he quick off the line but strong as well.<\/p>\n
6) Another player I noticed on the limited video I have seen is UCLA\u2019s RB Demetric Felton.\u00a0 He has practiced with the WR\u2019s so far this week.\u00a0 He can\u2019t be touched off the line and has great moves in his route running.\u00a0 Daniel Jeremiah thinks he could go from an unknown to a late day one pick.<\/p>\n
Most of the Day one picks will come from the Junior class.\u00a0 Only a few 4 year players will be taken on round one.\u00a0\u00a0 Underclassmen cannot play in this game.<\/p>\n
