OPENING STATEMENT:<\/b><\/p>\n
Just overall, we didn\u2019t, obviously, do anything well enough today. \u00a0Didn\u2019t do enough on offense, turned the ball over, gave up two third down touchdowns on defense, didn\u2019t play well in the kicking game. \u00a0Just really didn\u2019t do anything well enough to really, win. You know, we competed, sort of had a chance at the end to come back, but you give up 21 points [when] your defense isn\u2019t on the field, I mean, that’s, you\u2019re going to lose about 98% of those games. \u00a0So, just gotta get back to work, got to do better job.<\/span><\/p>\n On his thoughts on the onside kick leading 14-0:<\/b><\/p>\n I think that everything we did, we\u2019re trying to do what we think\u2019s best.<\/span><\/p>\n On why they had Nate Ebner kick two onside kicks, Gostkowski only once:<\/b><\/p>\n Because we thought that was the best thing to do.<\/span><\/p>\n On who is the decision maker on surprise plays like that:<\/b><\/p>\n You know, we make all the decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n On if it being rugby-style, if he was supposed to put air on the ball or if it was supposed to be kicked along the ground:<\/b><\/p>\n We don’t have time for all that.<\/span><\/p>\n On the fact he told everyone during the week that the Eagles have probably the best special teams that he\u2019d seen all year and if we saw exactly what he meant today:<\/b><\/p>\n Yeah, no, I mean, give them credit, they took advantage of our mistakes. \u00a0We\u2019ve been good in that area, but we weren\u2019t today.<\/span><\/p>\n On what the calculation was going into the first onside kick and why did he think that was a good time to try it:<\/b><\/p>\n I mean, there wasn\u2019t a tremendous downside to the play. \u00a0I mean, it\u2019s like when they mortared their one over there and Keyshawn [Martin] \u2026 it was just kind of the same thing \u2026 it was different, but it was kind of the same thing. \u00a0You know, kicking at the dead space.<\/span><\/p>\n On what he saw on the blocked punt:<\/b><\/p>\n We just \u2026 we blew it. \u00a0We just didn\u2019t block it properly, obviously. \u00a0Nothing we hadn\u2019t seen before. \u00a0We just didn\u2019t execute it well.<\/span><\/p>\n On the third and three that pass interference was called and the fact Jamie Collins signaled that it was tipped and if he had any conversation on calling a timeout to try and get the call overturned:<\/b><\/p>\n No. \u00a0Nope.<\/span><\/p>\n On what he takes away from how his team fought to get back into the game:<\/b><\/p>\n We had some good plays in the game, we just didn\u2019t have enough of them we had too many bad ones. \u00a0\u00a0Just not good enough.<\/span><\/p>\n On after seeing them give up 45 points if he saw their defense do anything differently on film during this game:<\/b><\/p>\n No, I mean, look, I said all week they have a good defensive team and they do. \u00a0They have one of the best fronts, I mean Fletcher Cox is one of the best defensive lineman in the league. \u00a0They have a good defense.<\/span><\/p>\n On the pass to Tom Brady, what went into calling that and if he feels it was well-executed:<\/b><\/p>\n I mean, he got a first down on it, yeah. \u00a0We thought it was a good play to run at that point.<\/span><\/p>\n On the pick six, what he saw<\/b>:<\/span><\/p>\n There\u2019s a lot of plays that I\u2019m sure all of us would like to have back. \u00a0All of us that played, all of us that coached … that was a big swing.<\/span><\/p>\n On when they had first and goal at the one what they were trying to accomplish by hurrying-up:<\/b><\/p>\n It was the same thing that happened when we scored the touchdown in the same situation later.
