The New England Patriots<\/strong><\/a> came up just short against the Texans in Houston this past Sunday.<\/p>\n

The 27-20 loss dropped the Patriots to 4-6 on the season and remain currently on the outside looking in at the AFC playoff picture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no slogan, no word, there\u2019s nothing outside of we have to do it for ourselves,\u201d Cam Newton said on WEEI\u2019s The Greg Hill Show <\/em>Monday. \u201cI think everybody in that locker room understands that and I wouldn\u2019t dare put the pressure on us to say, \u2018Well, we have to win out.\u2019<\/p>\n

“We\u2019re just going to take one week at a time and win the game as it needs to be won. For us, whether that\u2019s throwing the football, if that\u2019s running the football, whether that is stopping them on defense, it just doesn\u2019t matter. We just have to get the job done.\u201d<\/p>\n

One highlight from the game was a breakout performance by wide receiver Damiere Byrd who hauled in six receptions for a career high 132 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n
