OPENING STATEMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Always a hard-fought division game with Buffalo. \u00a0But always good to win in the division. \u00a0Always good to beat Buffalo. \u00a0I don\u2019t think that was our best, think we need to do a better job of coaching, do a better job of playing, but we made enough plays and we got some big plays from special teams, got some big plays defensively, so it was good today and [we] scored enough points. So, we\u2019ll take it and move on to Denver.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the fact they needed guys to step up and Danny Amendola and James White did that and with Amendola\u2019s status questionable, who\u2019s next up?:<\/b><\/p>\n

“Yeah, well, we\u2019ll see what the situation is this week. \u00a0I don’t know the answer to those questions yet. \u00a0\u00a0So we’ll see what it is and get ready for Denver.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On what his understanding was on the inadvertent whistle:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat they explained out there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On if he was surprised, disappointed, upset:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, it is what it is. \u00a0They explained exactly what happened and those are the procedures they follow. \u00a0I mean you can send a pool reporter over there and talk to them. \u00a0I\u2019m sure they\u2019ll tell you what happened. \u00a0I mean, what else is there to do?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On how he would assess James White\u2019s performance:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I\u2019ll have to go back and look at it on the film but, he made a nice play on the touchdown run, you know, broke Graham\u2019s tackle there on about the 10-yard line, 8-yard line, whatever it was. \u00a0But James has been a dependable player for us, came through with a couple big plays last week against the Giants and had them today. \u00a0We need everybody every week and he made some plays for us today. \u00a0Again, overall, I\u2019m sure everybody feels like we could have done a better job. \u00a0I don\u2019t think anybody was perfect out there.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the decision to go for the 54-yard field goal instead of punting in the first half:<\/b><\/p>\n

“We thought it was O.K. there. \u00a0We see plenty of those.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the play of his defense in the fourth quarter after it seemed like they were out there for much of the quarter:<\/b>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

“We had some negative plays there. \u00a0We had some tackles for a loss in the running game and we gave up a couple long passes where we lost good field position but, in the end, made some stops on 3rd and 4th down, made a big red area stop down there and held them to a field goal with like 4 minutes to go in the game, whatever it was. But defensively, yeah, other than the one touchdown run where we kind of, you know, got out of position. \u00a0We held the points down, that\u2019s really what it\u2019s about.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the fact they\u2019re down to just two healthy receivers and how that affects play-calling:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe had to work around it a little bit tonight, yeah. \u00a0I mean, we\u2019ll see what it is going forward, but yeah, tonight we definitely had to work around it. \u00a0Josh does a good job managing the game and we were able to do what we could do. \u00a0It wasn\u2019t what we necessarily wanted to be, but it was good enough. \u00a0So we did a good job managing it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On his thoughts on Brandon King and what they saw in him going back to training camp:<\/b><\/p>\n

“Yeah, I mean that\u2019s really I would say most of the credit has to go to JoJo. \u00a0You know, Joe dug him out. \u00a0You know, Brandon\u2019s kind of an interesting guy. \u00a0He\u2019s really played pretty much every position on the field on defense, played 3 technique at Auburn so it\u2019s hard to imagine him as a defensive tackle but he was and he actually didn\u2019t play bad. \u00a0I mean, he\u2019s just, obviously undersized. \u00a0But, you know, good playing strength, can definitely run. \u00a0We\u2019ve used him inside on the punt team. \u00a0Today, we used him at the gunner, we used him some as a gunner last week. \u00a0You know, got another fumble out there on McKelvin, so that was a big play for us. \u00a0But he’s given us big plays in the return game blocking and also kickoff and punt coverage.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“So he\u2019s given us some versatility. \u00a0He\u2019s bigger than a lot of the speed guys and he’s faster than a the lot of the big guys. so he’s kind of a mismatch guy whether he\u2019s inside or outside if you will and he’s really done a good job of learning multiple positions and Joe and Bubba have done a great job of training him both in assignments and techniques. \u00a0He\u2019s been a good, you know good player for us. \u00a0He made plays on the punt team inside and now he\u2019s made some plays as a gunner opposite of Slater. \u00a0So if they double Slater, they actually had\u00a0three guys on him on one play tonight, then that creates some opportunities on the other side. \u00a0He\u2019s taken advantage of those and helped us. \u00a0But he\u2019s done a good job. But really, Joe dug him out.”<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tom Brady\u2019s toughness after he took a lot of hits:<\/b><\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t think anybody ever questioned Tom\u2019s toughness mentally or physically. \u00a0He\u2019s about a tough a guy as they come.”<\/span><\/p>\n
