One day after the Buccaneers made a deal to acquire retired tight end Rob Gronkowski, it appears that another Patriots player could be next up on the trading block.<\/p>\n

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are apparently showing interest in Patriots offensive lineman Joe Thuney and may be interested in making a deal with New England to bring him to Miami.<\/p>\n

The potential deal makes sense as the hope seemed to be that the two sides could work out a long-term extension for him after the Patriots placed the franchise tag on him last month.\u00a0 However, so far, that hasn’t been the case and most reports have indicated that they’re fairly far apart in getting one done.<\/p>\n

His current designation has him accounting for nearly $15-million against the salary cap.\u00a0 \u00a0With New England currently sitting with just over $1-million in cap space, something will need to eventually get done and if an extension isn’t going to come to fruition, moving him in a trade is clearly their best option.<\/p>\n

Thuney started all 64 games since he was drafted and won two SBs. He was selected All-Pro last year.<\/p>\n
