This is my second Mock Draft with a final coming next Wednesday.<\/p>\n
This time I used Fanspeak On The Clock Premium which allows trades.\u00a0 I used Steve from Fanspeak as the rankings which was updated Tuesday April 7th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n TRADE:\u00a0 NE Trades R1 P23 to BAL for R2 P23, P28 & R3 P23<\/strong><\/p>\n I start off trading the first round pick again.\u00a0 From pick 23-60 there is not much difference.<\/p>\n 55: R2 P23 C\u00a0LLOYD CUSHENBERRY LSU<\/strong><\/p>\n He is perhaps the #1 OC in the draft.\u00a0 The Patriots have David Andrews coming back from an issue with blood clots in his lungs.\u00a0 A question mark at best with no backup on the roster.<\/p>\n 60: R2 P28 S\u00a0JEREMY CHINN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS<\/strong><\/p>\n Chinn is an up and comer having a terrific combine to go along with great play at the Senior Bowl game and practices.\u00a0 At 6\u2019 3\u201d 221 he ran 4.45 at the combine and looked smooth in every other area too.\u00a0 13 career INTs.\u00a0 Could play LB.\u00a0 Has coverage skills of a CB.\u00a0 I wanted Kyle Dugger but couldn\u2019t swing a trade up.\u00a0 Some people think Chinn could be 3rd<\/sup> S off the board.<\/p>\n TRADE:\u00a0 NE Trades R3 P23 & P34 to CIN for R3 P1<\/strong><\/p>\n Made this trade even before I made the Chinn selection<\/p>\n 65: R3 P1 TE\u00a0ADAM TRAUTMAN DAYTON<\/strong><\/p>\n Trautman in my opinion is the #1 TE in this draft.\u00a0 I moved up to insure I got the player I wanted.\u00a0 Trautman will have an adjustment to better competition but should handle it flawlessly.\u00a0 He has a huge catch radius similar to Gronk.<\/p>\n 100: R3 P36 QB\u00a0JALEN HURTS OKLAHOMA<\/strong><\/p>\n Just too good to pass up at this point in the draft.\u00a0 His numbers between Alabama and Oklahoma are outstanding.\u00a0 Hurts threw for 9,477 yards, 80 TDs to 20 INTs, and threw for over 60% completion percentage every year, including 69.7% as a senior.\u00a0 He led Alabama as a red shirt freshman to the National Championship. Led them to a 2nd<\/sup> trip to the championship as a Soph but got replaced by Tua Tagovailoa his Jr year.\u00a0 Transferred as a Graduate student and had a brilliant senior season.\u00a0 His only issue is that he stands 6\u2019 1\u201d.<\/p>\n 106: R3P42 WR\u00a0LYNN BOWDEN KENTUCKY<\/strong><\/p>\n Versatile – I have seen Bowden listed as a RB in many places but he is projecting to a slot receiver.\u00a0 He finished the last 8 games this past season as the Wildcats starting QB rushing for 1468 yards and 13 TDs.\u00a0 He had 7.9 yards per carry.\u00a0 He also started 5 games as a WR and led Kentucky with 30 receptions. He is a terrific Punt Returner and returns Kickoffs as well.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t run at the combine or his Pro Day but is projected to run between 4.38 and 4.58.<\/p>\n 125: R4P19 RB\u00a0DARRYNTON EVANS APPALACHIAN STATE<\/strong><\/p>\n Offensive Player of the Year in the Sun Belt Conference.\u00a0 Ran for 1480 yards and 18 TDs along with 21 catches.\u00a0 Started his college career at Maryland and played as a true freshman.\u00a0 Not a team need but just too good to pass up. Especially with all the contracts coming due next season.<\/p>\n 172: R5P26 OT\u00a0CHARLIE HECK NORTH CAROLINA<\/strong><\/p>\n Son of a former NFL OT and former All American at Notre Dame, Andy Heck.\u00a0 Has great size at 6\u2019 8\u201d 311.\u00a0 Experienced, starting 47 of 48 games over 4 seasons (3 years at RT and as a Sr played LT).\u00a0 Great value at this point in draft for a potential swing tackle.<\/p>\n 195: R6P16 TE\u00a0DALTON KEENE VIRGINIA TECH<\/strong><\/p>\n NESN\u2019s Doug Kyed has convinced me.\u00a0 Keene is the Sleeper of the TE class.\u00a0 Kyed says \u201cAt 6-foot-4, 253 pounds, he ran a 4.71-second 40-yard dash with a 7.07-second 3-cone drill, 4.19-second short shuttle, 34-inch vertical leap and 10-feet, 5-inch broad jump. He left for the pros after his junior season, so he\u2019s still only 20 years old. He\u2019s a good blocker, moves well, has NFL size and speed and is unrelenting after the catch. He\u2019s also versatile. He can play tight end, H-back, fullback and some running back.\u201d\u00a0 Kyed compares him to George Kittle coming out of college.\u00a0 Little production but great potential.<\/p>\n 204: R6P25 S\u00a0ALOHI GILMAN NOTRE DAME<\/strong><\/p>\n Double dip on Safeties given McCourty, Chung are over 30. \u00a0Gilman will be a Special Teams ace.<\/p>\n 212: R6P33 EDGE\u00a0CARTER COUGHLIN MINNESOTA<\/strong><\/p>\n Took a flyer on a productive college pass rusher.\u00a0 Coughlin ran a 4.56 at combine but must better use of his hands.\u00a0 Tweener at 6\u20193\u201d 236.\u00a0 If he is to make it, he must shine as a core ST player and then develop.<\/p>\n 213: R6P34 LB\u00a0CASEY TOOHILL STANFORD<\/strong><\/p>\n Desperate for LB and having not filled this position taking a flyer on a smart player.\u00a0 Toohill is prototypical Pats OLB at 6\u20194\u201d 250 and ran 4.62 and 7.08 3 cone at combine.\u00a0 He was a finalist for the Campbell Award (Academics, Football Ability, Leadership) and has Patriots written all over him.<\/p>\n 230: R7P16 G\u00a0TOMMY KRAEMER NOTRE DAME<\/strong><\/p>\n At 6\u20196\u201d 319 RG Kraemer is described as Huge, Wide Big and Large.\u00a0 Tough to get around in Pas Blocking.\u00a0 However he is a waist bender and may not have the NFL level athleticism required.\u00a0 At this point in the draft you are taking flyers on guys.\u00a0 Kraemer will compete for a backup spot, if not provide depth on the Practice Squad<\/p>\n 241: R7P27 S\u00a0JAVELIN GUIDRY UTAH<\/strong><\/p>\n World class speed 4.29 at the combine.\u00a0 PAC 10 60M finished 6th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Projected Safety that has issues with zone coverage and man skills.\u00a0 Has that make up speed that you can\u2019t teach.\u00a0 Especially good covering crossing routes.\u00a0 Known for his work ethic and desire to improve.\u00a0 Would be a gunner on STs<\/p>\n Again I didn\u2019t draft a K and would prioritize that as a Un Drafted Free Agent.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t draft a DT as this is not a good year for Interior D lineman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" This is my second Mock Draft with a final coming next Wednesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":26278,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_pfeai_meta_description":"","_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_feature_clip_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false},"categories":[2281],"tags":[2269,2282,44],"class_list":["post-27981","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-2020-patriots-draft","tag-2020-nfl-draft","tag-2020-patriots-draft","tag-new-england-patriots"],"yoast_head":"\n
