Here’s a look at today’s top stories.<\/p>\n

Injury Scare For Dorsett –\u00a0<\/strong>The Patriots had another injury scare on Tuesday after veteran wideout Phillip Dorsett seemingly suffering a leg injury during an 11-on-11 play where he went down while running a crossing route.<\/p>\n

According to reports, Dorsett reportedly remained down for about a minute before leaving the field and joining trainers inside the blue medical tent.<\/p>\n

Dorsett was later spotted on the sideline catching passes with a Patriots staff member and eventually walked off the field with the team under his own power when practice ended.<\/p>\n

Reports also say that the injury was nothing more than just a “scare” and that the veteran shouldn’t miss any time.<\/p>\n

Dorsett played in 16 snaps on Thursday against Washington and was targeted twice, but didn’t register a catch.\u00a0 His close call comes just one day after Julian Edelman suffered a scare of his own during Monday’s session at the end of practice, but he was back on the field Tuesday and didn’t seem to show any ill-effects from the incident.<\/p>\n

Jags Waiter Trolls Patriots Fans –\u00a0<\/strong>It appears down in Jacksonville, they’re still not quite over January’s AFC Championship loss.<\/p>\n

A table with fans donning Patriots gear were given a subtle note from their server embedded into their check, indicating that clearly the belief was that Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack’s fumble recovery in that game shouldn’t have been blown dead.<\/p>\n

The play occurred early in the fourth quarter with New England trailing 20-10 on a trick play with a double-pass to Dion Lewis.\u00a0 Jack tracked him down from behind, ripping the ball out of his hands as they were going down and then appeared to be off to the races for a potential touchdown but an official blew the whistle while ruling he was down by contact.<\/p>\n

The Jaguars would then go three-and-out on the ensuing possession and New England capitalized on their next drive, driving 85-yards on 8 plays with Danny Amendola scoring on a 9-yard touchdown reception to pull back within 3 points at 20-17.<\/p>\n

Obviously the Patriots eventually completed the comeback and it’s clear that they’re still a little bitter down there. Fortunately, aside from a little trolling, no harm was done and the two teams will meet again in week two down in Jacksonville in a regular season meeting on September 16th.<\/p>\n

Ebner Moving On From 2017 Injury –\u00a0<\/strong>We mentioned the struggle Cyrus Jones went through during his rehab recently and the fact he had Julian Edelman and Derek Rivers along with him for support, but we failed to realize another player who was also part of that group.<\/p>\n

Special teams standout Nate Ebner was also part of that injured set of players, with Ebner suffering a season-ending knee injury during the team’s 35-17 win over the Dolphins in Week 12.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately it made him part of a club who had a tough road to travel as they each worked to come back from their respective injuries.\u00a0 Ebner said that having those guys to lean on made that process a little easier.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s tough, it\u2019s hard enough as it is, and especially to do it alone,\u201d said Ebner via Rich Garven of the MetroWest Daily News<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cThere are some long days and some days that are harder than others. So when you have people to lean on, teammates who work really hard and push each other, we really maximize our efforts and what we\u2019re doing day in and day out. … That\u2019s a positive you can take out of it, having some guys who are tough dudes who work hard doing it together.\u201d<\/p>\n

For now, Ebner said the injury is in the rear view as he continues getting ready for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s football, man,\u201d said Ebner. \u201cStuff happens. I\u2019m so past that at this point I don\u2019t even want to think about. I\u2019m just trying to get it right. That\u2019s all I can do.\u201d<\/p>\n

No “Tom vs Time” Sequel –<\/strong>\u00a0One of the coolest things fans were subjected to last season was the documentary put together by Tom Brady in his “Tom vs Time” web series, but it seems like it may have been a one shot deal.<\/p>\n

Brady was asked about it Tuesday morning on WEEI’s Kirk and Callahan,\u00a0<\/em>with the quarterback answering with a simple “no” when asked if there would be a follow-up this season.<\/p>\n

He went on to explain that he enjoyed the process and the goal was to give fans some insight to what it’s like to balance his job as an NFL quarterback with his family life, but he has no plans to do it again this season.<\/p>\n

Brady was also asked about his future and whether he planned to play beyond this season, with the veteran saying that he plans on being next year “and hopefully beyond”.<\/p>\n

“I certainly expect to be here next year and hopefully beyond,” said Brady via ESPN<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 “I have goals to play for a long time. I still love doing it. I still want to do it. But I’m also focused on what I need to do this year. It’s a tough challenge, and it’s a great challenge. I’ve loved it for a long time, and I still want to get out there and be the best I can be for our team.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
