The\u00a0Chicago Bears\u00a0have traded linebacker\u00a0Jonathan Bostic\u00a0to the\u00a0New England Patriots<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0according to\u00a0Field Yates of ESPN.<\/p>\n

The Bears will receive a sixth-round draft pick in the deal, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.<\/p>\n

The 6’1, 245-pound linebacker was taken in the second round (50th overall) of the 2013 NFL draft out of Florida.<\/p>\n

It’s important to note this deal is pending a physical, because Bostic has not been active this season due to an ankle injury and had a back issue during the pre-season.<\/p>\n

In his rookie season, Bostic started nine games at middle linebacker, but hasn’t found a place as Chicago transitions to a 3-4 defense.<\/p>\n

The Patriots have Jamie Collins, Dont’a Hightower, Jerod Mayo and Jonathan Freeny currently on the linebacker depth chart. Dane Fletcher (knee) is on the Physically Unable to Perform list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
