Rest In Peace Todd King, Patriots Fan and Organizer of the North Carolina Patriots Fangroup
“We had some good times over the years and I’ll never forget how you would save me a seat at the brick house on Sundays even though I was often decked out in Broncos gear. You didn’t care, you just wanted everyone there having a good time. You were the biggest sports fan I’ve ever known and your memory will live on. I always used to tell people about how you would drop everything and help anyone who needed it at any time”. – Sarah Mae Johnson
This is from a non-Patriots fan, but it aptly describes the big teddy bear that was Todd King. King (53) was a native of Dracut MA, the next town over. He was born in Lowell and attended Central Catholic HS in Lawrence. A son of Merrimack Valley.
Todd passed away from a heart attack while vacationing in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Todd moved to North Carolina for a business opportunity. While there he founded the New England Patriots Fans of North Carolina fan group That is how I met Todd. I was the coordinator of the Razors’ Edge Tailgate group here at Gillette.
For those who knew Todd, he was larger than life. He was always there to lend a helping hand or advice to anyone in need. He served as a “big brother” to many of his friends. He truly would have given you the shirt off his back. He was a survivor of the Station Nightclub fire in West Warwick, RI, and went on to be the co-founder and President of the Station Family Fund which helped raise millions of dollars for the fire victims and their families.
Todd was a devoted Boston sports fan as reflected in his attire and tattoos. Todd also had a strong love of music and could often be found at a concert supporting his favorite bands. He traveled near and far to see bands that he liked and was a frequent attendee of the Monsters of Rock Cruise as well as the M3 rock festival. Todd made many friends doing the things he loved and he will be missed by many who he viewed as his extended family.
This quote summarized Todd: “Every little thing is gonna be alright”.
“Pats Nation got one member weaker this weekend with the loss of one of the most vocal and passionate fans you’d have ever met, Todd King. Todd, the man behind the Pats Fans of North Carolina years ago, was a larger-than-life personality who you couldn’t miss if you tried at a game, tailgate, or rally. He loved his Boston sports, especially the Patriots, almost as much as he loved bringing people together over these teams. Had the pleasure of spending many game days with him, and hosting many events for him. Not a single one will ever be forgotten…even with the way shots flowed and beer poured
Generous, outrageous, endearing, lovable, dedicated, and joyful…he’ll be missed, but his mark is left on the parties he threw, the good times he reveled in, and the friends he made along the way. Love you, Pats pal. Rest in championships.” – Fitzy
Rest In Peace
