The entire NFL and football community continues to wait for additional good news in regard to the health of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who remains in critical condition in Cincinnati after collapsing on the field during Monday Night Football.
Hamlin collapsed in the first quarter of the contest and was given CPR on the field before being transported to the University of Cincinnati medical center for further treatment. Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest after delivering a hit on Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins.
After lengthy discussions between both teams and the NFL, the game was postponed to a later date.
As of this writing Wednesday, the Bills provided an update, saying Hamlin has shown some signs of improvement but that he remains in critical condition.
On Tuesday, Hamlin’s family released the following statement.
“On behalf of our family, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the love and support shown to Damar during this challenging time. We are deeply moved by the prayers, kind words, and donations from fans around the country.
“We also want to acknowledge the dedicated first responders and healthcare professionals at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center who have provided exceptional care to Damar. We feel so blessed to be part of the Buffalo Bills organization and to have their support. We also want to thank Coach Taylor and the Bengals for everything they’ve done.
“Your generosity and compassion mean the world to us. Please keep Damar in your prayers. We will release updates as soon as we have them.”
Over the past few days, several current and former Patriots players have sent out prayers and well-wishes for Hamlin and his family over social media.
