The New England Patriots offense has come under criticism in 2019, but wide receiver Julian Edelman isn’t losing confidence in his teams ability to get better.
On social media Friday, Edelman shared a photograph of himself with quarterback Tom Brady and a caption that simply read “trust”.
Despite the offensive woes, Edelman individually is in the midst of a career year.
Through 12 games, Edelman has 82 catches for 915 yards and five touchdowns.
Edelman is on pace to set career highs in receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,106) and has had at least four receptions in every game this season. He’s also two scores away from his career high in touchdowns.
Speaking with the media Friday, Edelman reflected back on some wise words from his father when discussing his 2019 season.
“If you’re done growing, you’re done playing,” Edelman said. “My dad always said, ‘When you’re green you grow, when you’re ripe you rot.’ And that’s what you do here. You try to continually go out and try to get better, improve whatever you can improve. And that’s what I’ll do until the day I’m done.”
Edelman and the offense will look to build more trust against the Kansas City Chiefs and their 25th ranked defense,
