New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, ESPN’s  Field Yates has reported.

Edelman missed the entire 2017 season after suffering a torn ACL last year during the preseason. If the suspension holds, Edelman will miss the Patriots’ first four games against the Texans, Jaguars, Lions, and Dolphins.

Edelman has been a regular attendee this spring during the Patriots OTAs and minicamp and has looked like his normal self thus far. This will be a huge blow to the Patriots offense who missed Edelman last year and was hoping to get him back and healthy for the regular season.

We’ve heard that he will appeal but for now, he’s gone for the first four games.
