Remember that time the Boston Red Sox were caught using deflated baseballs in a playoff game?

If you’re confused by everything that question, you aren’t alone.

On Twitter Tuesday, the Oakland Athletics attempted to poke fun at the Boston Red Sox with a little jab that one might say “struck out” in terms of comedy.

The Red Sox play in Oakland in late April so the A’s decided to promote the series as “Deflategate 2.0” in a bizarre tweet that tied the New England professional baseball team to the football team despite the obvious fact there is zero correlation or relevance to the two year legal battle that resulted in Tom Brady missing four games over basic science.

But either here nor there for a city who’s football team will forever be tied to the start of the Patriots dynasty with the tuck rule you’d think they could have done a better job with their historical reference jokes but alas, here’s the really bad tweet in all its lameness below.
