When you’re the guy who helped establish the team as a perennial winner and is responsible for four Super Bowl Championships, it’s no surprise when the club puts together a pretty cool gesture in your honor after the league boots you out for a month for something you didn’t do.

The mural of Tom Brady that the Patriots created and placed on the lighthouse at Gillette Stadium, which includes his #12 at the top, was certainly one of the cooler things to wake up to on Sunday morning and when Brady found out about it, it sounds like he’s definitely appreciative of the gesture.

Brady appeared on Westwood One radio Thursday night and sat down with Jim Gray and discussed a variety of topics, but Brady addressed the “marketing thing” that Bill Belichick himself dismissed this week and said he was moved by what the club did for him.

“I think it was a very cool gesture by Mr. Kraft and the team,” said Brady via ESPN. “I’ll be excited to be back out there in October, when I’m there for real.  But it was a really cool thing to do and I was certainly very humbled and flattered to see it.”

As for having to sit out over these next four weeks, Brady told Gray that this whole experience has taught him a lot in terms of the people who have stood by him, and now he’ll just be glad when this is over.

“I’m a pretty positive person. I use all these different situations in my life as learning experiences and I certainly learned a lot about myself, about my support system, about the people that care about me, my teammates, my friendships and I look forward to going back out there and playing when I get the opportunity to do it.
