FOXBORO, MA — For all those fans out in Patriot Nation that are concerned about the future of Lawyer Milloy, there appears to be good news on the horizon.

According to the Boston Globe, Ray Anderson, who is Milloy’s agent, said that, “We’re less concerned about whether Lawyer is going to be a Patriot. I think we’re in the same ballpark now and it’s something that we can get back to and consummate with a little more creativity.”

The deal most likely will be for six or seven years between $30-$35 million, with a fairly large signing bonus.

Milloy meanwhile, after meeting with Kraft last week, feels very good about how things are going. The issue New England will need to work on is dealing with their current salary cap situation. The team is currently $80,000 under the cap, and when a deal is consummated, it will most likely have to begin in the year 2000.

The deal will most likely make him the highest-paid safety in the NFL

Lawyer Milloy is 26 years old. He was drafted back in 1996 in the second round out of Washington. He started every game as a rookie, including the two playoff games as well as the Superbowl. He has started every game for the Patriots from the day he was drafted and has not missed a game.
