I get that.

But I also remember the early 70's... dreaming of just MAKING the playoffs...

...and the late 70's... making the playoffs and then one-and-done...

...and the 80's... with brief glimpses of exhilaration followed by crushing defeat...

...and the early 90's... an arid desert of incompetence...

...and the late 90's... a feeling of 'how far could we go if Bledsoe were just a LITTLE bit better'...

...so please forgive me if I perhaps overly appreciate this almost-unprecedented run of seasons with Brady (and of course Belichick) in which every season's finish has the promise...

and in three instances the REALITY...

of greatness.
