I assume we will lose a couple of games in the second half of the season with a much more competitive schedule. we are still the class of football.Nick Saban calls it rat poison but I think it hurts the team when the media tells them how good they are. Who cares if we’re 7-0? 7 wins don’t mean anything, the last two occasions when we went 7-0 in 07 and 15 didn’t translate to a super bowl win. I think the reason for this is the media, I almost like it better when they say Brady is done or we aren’t going to the super bowl or the defense sucks because it adds that motivation. Winning too much will make you complacent. It is rat poison.
They said the same thing in 2003 when the Pats were finishing the regular season with 12 straight wins. Many mediots said how they would be better off to have dropped one or two late in the season.
I seem to remember that year ending relatively well.
They did say something I agreed with. The ravens game will not be a must-win game, I mean of course you want to win but BB knows they might face them again in the playoffs and will test out certain looks on defense against Lamar Jackson to see what works and what doesnt work.the media is still clinging to the fact we haven't played anyone yet. It seems to me that winning "too much" gets you a bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. And half of all #1 seeds make it to the Superbowl.
OK, who are you hoping beats the Pats for their own good so they can go on to win the Super Bowl?Nick Saban calls it rat poison but I think it hurts the team when the media tells them how good they are. That’s why I posted in another thread that sometimes a loss or 2 is good. I’m not getting psyched to go undefeated.Nick Saban calls it rat poison but I think it hurts the team when the media tells them how good they are.
