I don't see the relevance of race to this issue at all. I don't think anyone should ever be "more sensitive" due to someone else's race. I'm fine with Tom's decision and I would never ASSUME anything regarding someone else's decision.

    If Stephen A is upset, that's ok...but I couldn't care less.

It wasn't racism but it was disrespect to the Office of the Oresidency and to every fan who was excited to see the team be celebrated at the highest level.

Oh I forgot, respecting the Office of the Presidency even if you don't respect the man holding it stopped being a "patriotic duty" the moment Obama came into office. My bad.

Whoa - - well this is something not mentioned before - - From Mike Reiss today:

    http://espn.go.com/blog/new-england...666/quick-hit-thoughts-around-patriots-nfl-24

"5. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady didn’t attend Thursday’s ceremony at the White House because of a prior family commitment. But one theory floated in the Boston Herald’s “Inside Track” gossip column was that his absence might also be tied to comments made by White House press secretary Josh Earnest in the aftermath of Brady’s Deflategate news conference in January when Earnest criticized Brady’s public-relations skills. If so, that would reflect how deeply Brady was hurt by the widespread questioning of his integrity, including from those at the White House. For what it’s worth, I’m told Brady was present at the stadium for a stretch of time Thursday while many in the organization were at the White House."

    more about nothing,

Nothing said at the exact time he had a commitment, just said he couldnt go because of a family commitment. There was travel time that has to be considered too. More of making a story out something that has not been said, Even if was something as childish that was implied here, I have to be ok with the higher road of saying nothing......
