It wouldn't be the Patriots winning it - SD pounded them this year and Denver has almost always had BBs number and probably would have won the second meeting
Miami would be most likely the one team to win the west if they were in that division they have fared well against the West in 2008.

We all know the Patriots pass defense has been atrocious, no-one has claimed otherwise. The Raiders' defense, though, is very undisciplined and would certainly have allowed more yards and point had other teams needed them. The Raiders average scoring less than 14 PPG, that alone helps keep the scoring against them down.
That's if the "brain trust" in Oakland had the sense to realize that they could help their team more with extra draft picks than they can by throwing megabucks to squat on Asomugha's rights.
Sorry to burst your bubble but their defense IS a lot better than anybody (especially here) will give them credit for. Look at the amount of points they gave up v.s. our division then compare it to how many points we've given up v.s. our division. They beat the Jets and had the Dolphins going into the 4th quarter of that game despite their pathetic offense. This is a game we very well could lose just because of that D. Do I expect us to lose? No. But the game will be MUCH closer than you think.

I would be surprised if the Pats lost this game (Oakland can be competitive, but it can also look utterly inept on both sides of the ball), but I would not be surprised if it plays out like the Seattle game given the last time the Pats played two west coast teams in a row.
At this point, I don't make long term plans as every game holds the potential for a tooth and nail fight for a win. The occasional blow-out is a refreshing surprise.
