It has been reported that Pat Gillick GM of the Philadelphia Phillies, was saying don't expect the Phillies to be good nextyear. Also, expect ticket prices to go up as well. How about that as a selling point? Pay more for tickets to watch your team get crushed. I wonder how many empty seats will there be at ballpark nextyear? Hmmmmm. How would you feel if you heard that from your GM?

GOD it is tough being a Phillies fan, especially when it comes from the GM of your team.

I bet he'll take less heat than Duquette did for 'more days in first place' or 'twilight of his career.'

And they say you Philly fans are harsh.

Well, as tough as it was being a Sox fan until 2004, at least you could always say that the team was trying to win. And its just another reason the Pats first SB win was so huge, it let the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins know that just being competitve isn't enough in Boston, you have to be trying to win.
But hey, it could be worse... you could be a Royals fan.
