If they do, they will fade away.
The people you are looking down on have as much right to vote as you do.
We don’t live in a country that says people’s vote onl counts if they meet an arbitrary criteria we live in a country where everyone’s vote counts equally.
That title belongs to Hank Johnson, D-GA, who argued against sending more troops to Guam out of fear that, with all those extra people, the island would "tip over and capsize".
yes, he was just re-elected!
Omg the first time I saw a video of this I couldn't believe it. And he was reelected after that....
I'm not looking down on anyone. I just think you should have an understanding of what you're doing before you are allowed to do it.
We don't allow people to drive without taking a test to determine if they are fit to do so.....
Jim Acosta - dink
The constitution disagrees with you. As does the Supreme Court.
Saying that after interacting with people you think they should be barred from voting based on an IQ year is absolutely looking down on people. What if the IQ barrier is higher than yours?
Universal suffrage is a relatively recent phenomenon. If the Supreme Court and Constitution are the authority on it being correct today, then the same authority was incorrect in the past.
A broken private industry that profits off people's misfortune and need to live another....I am not advocating socializing all business. Chill out.
No, you didn't.
I may be wrong in my assessment that the Democrats are trending toward full socialism (I hope I am but I don't think I am) but I am not literally making a mountain out of a molehill.
That makes no sense. If the laws in the past were different then the laws today don’t apply?
It would be broken in a much worse way if the government takes control.
Yes you are. You are LITERALLY taking one representative in one district and turning it into socialist America.
That's why all the best healthcare systems in the world are nationalized and our crappy healthcare is private....You aren't making any sense.
I wanted to add: I pay $620 a month for my family health insurance, which is excellent. This is subsidized heavily by my employer. If that cost was taken off my employers balance sheet, it would be a huge boon for them....And lets say I continue to pay $620 a month for health insurance....that ain't too bad.
How are nationalized systems the best?
Why do Canadian doctors send their families to the US when they are ill?
Why do doctors stop working in July in those nationalized health care countries?
If we went to that kind of system we would have worse care at greater cost. The only difference is the greater cost is charged to people with higher incomes.
Look at the VA as a great model of what socializing health care would do for the US.
1) I reject your premise that Canadian doctors send family members to the U.S. in any significant numbers.
5 Myths About Canadian Health Care
Additionally, have you tried to get an appointment for a physical? I have great healthcare and had to wait 3 months. I just sprained my foot..again, fantastic healthcare...2 weeks to see the orthopedist...That is good...Urgent care told me I would have to wait 3 months to see a specialist for my foot. So, don't give that BS...maybe we have decent healthcare for people with boat loads of money, but most of us are faulked. Last point, we don't have to model our care after Canada
2) What are you talking about? Some countries have different vacation standards than the U.S. much more humane vacation schedules. Europe basically closes down in the summer....this is a red herring argument.
3) It would cost less, because everybody would finally be paying in....and you have no evidence that the care would be worse...it is already terrible....and we pay through the nose. Employers would love it because they would no longer have to subsidize health it.
4) The VA has problems for a whole variety of reasons that have really nothing to do with nationalized health care... medicare ain't so bad and most old people are on it because if they were smart, they shed their assets.
I hope this isn't any indication...
There were some publicized examples. You can take my word for it or choose not to. I do not care.
You think that would be BETTER under socialized health care? It would be substantially worse. There would be fewer doctors taking more appointments because some people who do not have to pay to see a doctor will show up for every sniffle.
What does that have to do with anything?

How would everyone be paying in?
Please give me any example in history of a private industry taken over by the government that became more efficient and cost less. There are none.
Doctors forced to be dictated an income will leave. Most of the top doctors in the us, which has by far the best doctors in the world, are non from here and came here because of the opportunity our health care system gives them. That will stop.
The VA issues are exactly what you would get with nationalized health care, since, you know the VA is nationalized health care for veterans.
I guess the real question is how and why would you think a socialist health care system would make things better. I know the politicians say “free health care for everyone” but let’s not be stupid and pretend that’s anywhere near true.
No citation and anecdotal evidence. You are better than that...aren't you?
I know it will be better, lets take a look at the rankings:
World Health Organization's Ranking of the World's Health Systems
Look, we are 37th......Are you being fact based today?
What does that have to do with anything?
Everybody pays into SS and FICA....same premise. Where will doctors go to make money? Again, you make assumptions without any evidence. These doctors might want to live in the U.S.A and most of the greatest places for healthcare like Boston is due to schools like Harvard.
Oh look, another unsupported assumption...why wouldn't it look more like medicare? Again, I know somebody who works at the VA and their issues are very unique
You haven't provided any evidence to the contrary...and the healthcare won't be free, we would all pay for it, lowering costs...right now, people who pay for healthcare pay a lot and we subsidize those without health care....
So many countries have nationalized healthcare...France has the best.
Don’t have it handy, not interested in looking it up.
I’m not here to compete in an argument. I’m here to give you my opinion.
Based upon what criteria?
You realize that report is 18 years old right?
Do not know what you are referring to.
And that is the most mismanaged program in history.
They won’t stay here if they cannot make the money they came here to make.
Their issues are the issue of a government run health care system.
And you have provided no evidence either other than an 18 year old report that you don’t know the criteria it was based upon.
Socialized health care is an INCREASE in subsidization.
And what is their tax rate? You do not want france’s health care system at the expense of their taxation.
