Vince Young Is Horrible

With that awesome wide receiver the Titans scored that had that 7 game consecutive playoff game TD record going, I am surprised of the passing troubles.

I mean this guy was the biggest thing keeping the Titans from being able to win this game. I mean if the Titans had any offense at all they would have easily won this game!

And if the Chargers didn't have that crappy QB Rivers and that good for nothing Tomlinson they would have won by 40 today.

Vince Young is garbage. In fact, that might be an insult to garbage. The guy flat out sucks. However, then again, I guess the Titans and their fans should give the guy more "time" to "learn" the system.

Something is fishy here. Last year, Young was one of the best scrambling QBs in the game - IMHO he was the best and that was when Vick was still around. He was very decisive when he took off and he ran with authority.

Now he shuffles his feet in the pocket too long and mostly only takes off when the entire play has broken down to near-uselessness. Even when he takes off he is tentative and rarely makes big yardage.

I would imagine that Fisher is trying to get the guy to read defenses and keep his focus downfield while initially scrambling. That would seem the next progression, but Young took a big step back this season.

That's because the Titans staff is probably teaching this guy that taking off an running like your an option QB in college football is not how you win in the NFL. Even the best scrambling QB's, Steve Young, John Elway, etc., were pass first QB's who used the run only as a way of getting out of trouble. Vince was darting out of the pocket every chance he had last year. There are times ad libbing in football is great, but you can't scheme an entire game out of it.

True so true. Coach Fisher was more concerned with getting Vince playoff experience than winning that game. Collins would have given them a better shot.

You can't be serious...you actually believe Fisher would rather lose the game than short Young on experience? No way. Fisher played Young because Young is the starter, plain and simple. Besides, it would be a crushing blow to the entire franchise should Fisher suggest that a retread INT machine like Collins gave the Titans a better chance to win (the scary part is that fact may be true).

I was going to say that Young is an albatross around the Titan's necks, and he just might be, but I think it's more like a lodestone: they are going exactly where Young points them - nowhere.

Agreed, and for this I do give Young some credit. Unlike Vick, who was convinced that he was perfect already, Young spent the season trying like mad to learn to play the NFL position. Unfortunately, early results are not promising.

Yes, that was what I said as well:

But the step back that Young made was much bigger than I would have expected. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Young's first year proves to be his peak.

No Mawae, no olson, no top 3 receivers, injured on the road against a tough D in his 2nd year. hmmmmmm........I wonder why he looked bad.,

He was bad all year. Those are not valid excuses.

Why does Eli Manning get so much flack when Vince Young blows that much worse?

Probably because of the way that Eli came into the league (blowing off SD) and because of his pedigree.

He lacks accuracy, particularly downfield, and makes a lot of bad decisions. His OL was actually pretty good for most of the year. Granted, he doesn't have great receivers, but Brady didn't last year either, and was one pass away from winning the Super Bowl.

This guy stole Maurice Jones-Drew/Colston's ROY

People are going to look back on history and wonder what in the world was wrong with everyone.
