For the sake of argument the following players are 17 players IMHO should be picked before us at #24 (barring a combine freefall):
(QB) Russell and Quinn
(RB) Peterson and Lynch
(WR) Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Jarrett, Ted Ginn, Jr.
(OT): Joe Thomas and Levi
(DE): Gaines Adams, Jamaal Anderson, Adam Carriker
(NT): Alan Branch
(DT): Amboi Okoye
(CB): Leon Hall
(S): Laron Landry, Reggie Nelson

That leaves about 6 more players that should be taken before our pick at #24. Jarvis Moss plays at the position that shoots up draft boards. Patrick Willis draft stock is rising through the roof. Mocks have CB Darrelle Revis at somewhere around 12, so the odds are he won't make it to #24. Taking those three off, that would mean that the odds are that these twenty players mentioned won't be on the board at #24, plus three more unnamed players will be taken off before our #24.

Now, as mentioned before, draft picks 1-16 are signed for up to 6 year deals, but draft picks #17-32 can only be signed for 5 year deals. 2nd round picks to the end of the draft can only be signed for 4 years. IF (and its a big if) BB covets a DE project for the OLB position, he could spend our 2nd round pick in order to move up. The reason being is that the team might need that extra year under contract for a project position. If a guy like Jarvis Moss or Anthony Spencer moves up the boards, the extra contract year might be added incentive to move up. For sure that's something to keep in the back of your mind on draft day.

If we're looking for 3 more players to total 23, here's some to consider:

WR Sidney Rice
WR Dwayne Bowe
OG Justin Blalock
TE Zach Miller
CB Aaron Ross
CB [SIZE=-1]Marcus McCauley
LB Lawrence Timmons
