Just starting to get caught up on this. I finished episode 3 last night. I was supremely impressed with season 1, thought season 2 stunk out loud, and have been very impressed with season 3 thus far. I'm usually pretty good at formulating theories about these shows, but this one has me all twisted up so far. My leading theory (keeping in mind that I'm only on episode 3) is that Roland (Dorff) either outright did it or is very close to it. Reasons: He's not shown as an old man in 2015. His comment about this all "being right in front of them" in the car with Hays. Hays' older self being taunted about his ghost of a wife about "what he left in the woods"... possibly a falling out between the two of them that Hays' dementia is burying? Roland's being weirded out by the father praying with him. Probably way off, but that's what I'm getting so far.
