In 99% of NFL scandals, it seems like the league quickly determines it's just "one rogue guy" or a one time incident.

When the Falcons were piping in crowd noise, it was one rogue guy. The Jets scheme to set up a sideline "wall" on punt returns was the work of one rogue guy. Scott Miller, the NFL employee who was stealing auction items was just one rogue guy. The Giants using walkie-talkies was a one-time oversite, the fact that they were prepared to do that had no significance. The Broncos taping other teams practices was just one rogue guy. When the Panthers were tampering with footballs on the sideline, it was one rogue guy.

The 1% exception applies to only one team. When that team is involved, there is no "rogue guy." There's a massive conspiracy that the league is positive that exists and then works backwards to find anything that might support that.

That's where the league office has no credibility. If they were telling us that every potential scandal was the work of one rogue individual, it would seem overly convenient, but at least they would be consistent. The fact that they quickly bury stories involving other teams but go into Inquisition mode when the Patriots are involved shows they aren't operating on a level playing field.

With the ultimate irony being that that time it really WAS only one rogue guy.

The NFL consistently puts its incompetence on display, and you're right, this is certainly another example

Regardless of how stupid the NFL is, law enforcement did its job and tracked down a bunch of stolen goods

It's because of what the f-ing Director of the FBI said today that the Pats have been crucified and tried to be brought down by phony scandal after phony scandal.

Think about that for a second. He used the term HATE. I now know why, more than ever, that the FBI has sat on its hands doing nothing while a basically criminal organization (NFL) does whatever it wishes to whomever it wishes.

I am bummed and disappointed. I was really hoping that the culprit would turn out to be an NFL executive or employee just o watch Goodell squirm.

CBS reporting that there is footage of a man reaching into bag in Brady's locker. Says his back was to camera, so they had to figure out who it was. Footage reportedly came from Fox. I suspect that they early on knew who it was and may have taken time to get Mexico to cooperate.
