Tom Brady Is the Latest Celebrity to Hop On the Anti-Straw Bandwagon
Who is @****jerry??
Good for Tom, but this is a battle that will be very tough to win, even for the GOAT.
Don't we recycle plastic?
Whatevah. I reuse those "single use" plastic straws. I just wash them before I do the pots and pans, soaking them for a few minutes in the hot, soapy water. Then I grab them all and rinse them under the tap with fresh clean water, a I now have clean plastic drinking straws. One box will last me for many months.
PS: I'm not so much concerned with saving the planet as I am about saving my wallet. I also wash and rinse plastic spoons, too.
I guess he just wants to now go full weird mode. You never go 100 percent weird. Through football from yatchs in Monaco while your team mates are working on gelling as a team?
My issue is that whatever he is doing is a deconstruction of the image he portrayed for a long time. He says he wants to spend time with family but the optics were bad for OTA.
Greatest of all time, needs to go out on top but this is his last season here, unless BB leaves. He will not tolerate another offseason like this again.
I disagree with the premise of the article though. Logic that says “you shouldn’t stop doing harmful thing X, because other countries do X much more than you do, and therefore your stopping won’t make a difference” is flawed.
If you take that to its natural conclusion, I should never recycle anything and just throw all my garbage out the window of my car.
Doesn’t seem like something that should be advocated in “Reason” magazine.
Oh please. Wanting to get rid of plastic straws is hardly controversial and has nothing to do with going “weird” and playing on yachts. FWIW, I love paper straws.
I agree that there is way too much plastic in the ocean but are eradicating straws really the answer?
Tom's trying to mesh with the tree hugger crowd
Everything helps and considering how large the food service industry that mostly uses plastic straws it will make a difference
I was curious myself. Here's what I found.
Who The F Is Jerry? An Interview With F---Jerry's Founder Elliot Tebele
What a moron. These people are all morons. Glass and steel straws. Maybe they should simply properly dispose of their trash? I wonder what the Brady family's carbon footprint is...I'm going to go use a plastic straw RIGHT now.
What control do you, as a patron, have over how the restaurant disposes of their trash?
I've done beach clean-ups. Straws are everywhere, and you do not need them, at all. For five years I have always told the servers "no straws, please". Pretty easy to do, really.
So you think Brady’s a moron even though you are on the PatsFans message board and you also don’t know that much about Pat Tillman (as you said on another post) but you use his picture as your avatar and signature. You’re so good at this internet thing.
It's certainly controversial. It's also stupid to ban them. But, nobody should ever accuse governments of being particularly brilliant outside of the creation of instruments of war.
From what I remember, plastic straws make up about 1/2 billion lbs of waste PER DAY. Paper straws are clearly going to be a way of life, very soon.
I hear about the subject pretty often on TV/news/etc. I’m guessing that’s due to a recent push by fast food consumers.
Just remember, we went away from paper bags and the like because "Bad".
No, businesses went to plastic bags because "CHEAP"
