Before he defected to the flying elvis, I mean the Brits, Benedict Arnold was a excellent general

Benedict Arnold's expedition to Quebec - Wikipedia

The expedition began its departure from Cambridge on September 11, 1775, marching to Newburyport. The first units to leave were composed largely of men from that area, to whom Arnold had given extra time so that they would be able to see their families once more before the expedition left Newburyport. The last troops marched off on September 13; Arnold rode from Cambridge to Newburyport on September 15 after making final purchases of supplies.

Yea but he was the Jamie Collins of Washington 's army. He *****ed about money and not getting promoted even though he f-ed up at some battle for trying to be a hero and got wounded. Washington knew he was broke and an Loyalist ***** turncoat and gave him a **** assignment at West Point just to set him up with Andre.

Thought they did put that in the past with the late Ronald Reagan offering money to those that were wrongfully in that Japanese camp in WWII to the survivors and families of those that had passed.

Not since Pearl Harbor mentioning in 12/7/1942 aka D-Day, has 9/11/01 sixteen years ago has that day of infamy there! :(

Yea that was harsh. Jamie was just trying to get paid and disgruntled.

Arnold operated a whole other level.

Not a problem my friend. Anyone who has to go through what the families did that day, and those who lost loved ones in the wars that were created due to this deserve to have a day of remembrance.

I'm hoping to be able to travel out to NY and visit the site one day, may try and squeeze a Pats game in too!

Last thing before I go to bed 2am over here..

I would like to say thank you to all the people who have commented on their experiences on that day and how it affected them, I know it's not easy for Men to talk about these things (women as well).

Once again thank you for sharing your truly remarkable sad memories of that day.

I for one will do all I can to protect my country and our allys.

Snooky97 you are a good egg. Your thoughtful words on this sad day are appreciated.

However, if you attend a Jets game and wear green you will be banned from this board. Only the mods can allow you back.

Everybody was affected by Pearl Harbor, and 9/11 had the same effect.

Forty years later, and a pittance...pitiful, that it took that long (and Reagan).

What keeps it relevant is the unabated mistreatment of nonwhite, nonrich people.

"Mistreatment" is an offensively mild way of putting it...

I missed the show. I doubt that the history channel got into the real cause of 9/11, the disarming of our commercial pilots. Without that nobody takes over any of our planes.

I think about 9/11 quite a bit. There are reminders everywhere. One is in Dracut, where pilot John Ogonowski lived.

The following is a video of mostly snapshots and some sounds that were made the day of the attack. As difficult as it is to see it still needs to be seen and heard.

I learned a lot of stuff I did not know, watching it. As you say, our pilots were total sitting ducks - it was too easy. The screener who rightly saw something suspicious in the hijackers' behavior up in Maine, when they took the shuttle to Boston, hesitated, and then chose not to inform security, or anyone else. His regret is excruciating.

I get pissed when the commission says what allowed the attack was a "failure of imagination" on our intelligence community's part. More like a dismissal of, and failure to listen to, those who tried as loud as they could to point out the exposures. And a bunch of belligerent, aggressive non-English speaking guys paying cash to learn how to fly and not land...I've seen too many movies from the 70's alone that depict terrorist acts right there in NYC.

The hijackers were already known to the FBI, and yet received their student visa renewals from INS in the mail...six months after flying the planes into the WTC.
