Sorry if there is already a thread for this but what are everyone’s thoughts on Michel? I think overall he has been solid but somewhat underwhelming for a first round back. I know it’s early on but I don’t see any real explosion from him and he has added next to nothing in the passing game. Coming out I thought he would be a larger Deon Lewis but so far he seems to be more of a Stephan Ridley. Nick Chubb his college teammate (who I thought was a plodder) seems to be the more explosive of the 2 and he went a few picks later. We basically seem to be getting the same production we have had from guys like Ridley, Blount, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis. Not saying he’s a bust by any means I was just hoping for more of a spark.

If this is the best picture we are going to get from this Sony, then I don't think LG. I'd rather have a couple of Vizio's for the same price (high draft pick). But overall, I think the issue is what's surrounding Sony. Poor run blocking in general. He gets contact at or before the LOS on every play.

True about the run blocking being shaky. I don’t know the breakdown but it seems like a lot of his runs have Devlin as the lead blocker.

I agree and although his production has been ok, there is no burst. If the hole is there, he runs through it and then doesn't make anyone miss after that point..no shake and bake.

There was that awesome long run yesterday that would have "iced the game"....but Develin held.
In general, we are average to below average running the ball. If the other team even thinks we are running, we get held to under 3 yards. If they don't, we may be 4-5 yards.

It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out when we run the ball a lot with Sony on the field and throw the ball a lot with any other back on the field. Pretty much teeing him up for the defense.

When the fans can tell before the play if it's a run or a pass...what do you think the players in the game can see pre snap? It's execution that counts and if you
clog the lanes , the RB is screwed....

I think there have been at least two threads on this so far... one with the exact same headline.

It seems right now they’re force feeding Rex carries and snaps at the expense of both Sony and white. I’ll wait for the total snap counts to see what Rex ended up getting.

How bout some thoughts on why James white was barely used yesterday.
I’m starting to wonder if he is getting the Amendola/Gronk bubble wrap treatment. Break glass in case of emergency type usage. I feel in the past we had the luxury of limiting some guys snaps to keep them healthy for the post season but this team doesn’t have the firepower to leave anyone on the sideline.

Sony stats this year would be a lot better if we didn’t have so many flags on his runs at times. The amount of threads about this is getting ridiculous.

Once he’s improved his passing game he will be an unbelievable dual threat.

By unbelievable you mean not quite as good as Deon Lewis?
