Learned something new ... thanks.
No big deal. Like I said, doesn't define someone's level of patriotism. Though I could do without the sucking on chicken wings during it.
Then again, I almost never stand for the American anthem because I'm Canadian
But all the time for "Oh Can-eh-da."
I love that song and enjoy standing for it when the New England Revolution
play Vancouver or Montreal ... I'm a season ticket holder.
Just a note:
There's no enforcement mechanism for that. It's purely aspirational.

Cops: Michael Bennett Body Cam Footage Justifies Police Takedown
Michael Bennett just lost a ton of credibility. He's a race baiting liar.
After watching that video, go read his original social media post about it. It'll make you cringe.
Also worth mentioning that the cops who "racially profiled" him for "being black" were 2 Hispanics and 1 black.
Are you ****ing kidding me? The video makes him look bad? There were gunshots, and he was clearly scared and trying to sneak away. This was presented by the police department themselves, who clearly have an agenda (police departments always protect their own because the system will crush them and their livelihoods if they don't), and the footage is not continuous. Absolutely full of cuts. They could have easily said the things Bennett claims they said.
Sure, the cops weren't white. But 2 out of 3 weren't black, and we don't know the power dynamic of that group. We don't know who called the shots. When you're doing your job, sometimes your focus is on not making waves. Like I said, it's systemic, and the cops on top are just as much to blame as the ones committing murder. I don't know whether the cops in this video are bad. They acted fairly reasonably in the footage we saw, but who knows what we didn't see? The cops could have done what Bennett claimed and more; for that matter, Bennett could have done something bad in the cut footage as well, although I don't see why the cops would leave that out since they had control over the media release here.
I want to see continuous footage with no cop commentary before I go dogwhistling about how I told ya so, he's a thug! I told you!
Personally, I don't blame a black man for fearing for his life when the cops swarmed him and then getting mad about it later and suspecting it was due to his race. There is a clear precedent, and if you don't think that's true to at least some degree, you're just not being reasonable.

Exclusive poll: 62% of NFL fans plan to watch less football
I have never met a veteran who said that. If one did say that, he might be speaking for himself, but that does not making the act right or OK. I would also say that just because you can do or say something doesn't mean you should. Finally, this is about killing cops and THAT is wrong. PERIOD.
I already have. It's not about the kneeling and it did not start last week. The NFL treats their customers like crap. Ticket prices are outrageous, they charge for pre-season games then take the night off, charge more for a beer than a six pack ought to cost, and charge $324.99 for a Nike Elite Tom Brady #12 Jersey. Oh, and $4.50 for a paper cup of tap water. When they are not actually relocating a team, they are threatening to. The NFL adds insult to injury by insisting on public funding of stadiums and seat licenses.
They have made the game less entertaining by eliminating some of the violence. Few plays do not end with a big, tough football player complaining that he was touched too early or too late or in the wrong place.
The NFL has moved the focus of promotion from the game to the players. We know WAY too much about NFL players. We know they cheat. We know they abandon unplanned offspring. We know they are murderers. Mostly, though, we know how much money they make. And how much it costs to get them to change jerseys (and fans).
We know the NFL charges the military to salute vets and we know that the NFL is exempt from anti-trust laws. Their bad behavior is awe-inspiring.
And they are so f*'ng stupid that they talk about all of these things nonstop.
If a fan pays $346.96 for a ticket, $50 to park a mile from the stadium, $324.99 for a Nike Elite Tom Brady #12 Jersey, and $20 for a beer and a hot dog, he should get a lap dance -- not a political lecture.
What is going on right now is the NFL version of shut up and sing.
Nice appeal to ridicule.

Man, I wish my fellow Canadians had HALF the patriotism you guys have in America!
Many here raise their noses and strut around like they're God's gift to North America and like to think they're better than Americans.... I enjoy calling them out ask why they would want to act negatively and provokingly to our closest neighbor, business part and friend.
I sing along to both the Canadian and American anthems.
canadians seem very patriotic during the anthem at hockey games.
Yes they do, but when you converse with people in person/on the street/at work, you hear a different story. I've heard it my entire life. Being pushovers, they won't want to stand out at a hockey game by not following along.
Trust me, there are millions of Canadians who look down at Americans for whatever stupid reason they have been told to. That will change once we need your help. Don't bite the big dog on the block who scares away the other dogs when you're just a teecup poodle.
It's sad, Canada wasn't always like this. Trudeau senior turned Canada into a cesspool of whiners, cryers and entitled brats.
I agree with you about a lot of Canadians hating the states. but I always thought Canadiens loved canada. they always stand and sing the Canadian anthem with pride. at least it looks that way. I think there are lots of Canadians who don't like to admit how much better off they are having the united states at their southern border.
We couldn't have a better neighbor
