Daryl Dragon of Captain and Tennille Dies at 76
God rest his soul
3rd person today dead at 76.
Muskrats everywhere are in mourning.
The death notices you routinely post in this forum are hit-or-miss in significance, but this one doesn't seem worth it. Your headline is kind of alarming, there are lots of famous "captains" out there.
Captain Kangaroo died in 2004, and Captain Kirk still lives. I hope this clears up any possible confusion, because this captain wasn't really known by any other name.
Just watched their video "Love Will Keep Us Together". RIP
Captain and Tennille's Daryl Dragon dies: 'Love Will Keep Us Together' performer was 76
Which explains why the passing of one Daryl Dragon is not worth posting in this forum, even as OT.
No one got that.
I thought it was funny!
We disagree, not for the first or last time. Have a nice evening.
And may the captain rest in peace.
...at least it wasn't Captain Morgan.
I’m just chuffed to learn that his actual name was Daryl Dragon. That surpasses Ian Eagle for the widest known gap between the bad-assness of name and the actual appearance.
If he was in any other musical genre, that name would be money. Even Jazz or Classical.
Yep ... may God rest his soul ... and his music was horrendous.
Back in the day almost was torture as we only had a few radio stations.
When their music came on ... I shut the radio off ... for my sanity - I hated pop then thru now.
"Love will keep us together" or "Muskrat Love" .... YIKES!!!
Did any man really get action singing "The way I want to touch you"?
Was hoping for a Mean Gene thread today, BROTHER.
Yeah, well, if a single member of this forum (aside from yourself) owns a Captain & Tennille album and is shocked by Daryl's passing -- as sad as that might be -- I'll eat my hat.
Thought Kiki Dee and Elton John were a better man/woman combo even if it was only for one song.
Deus posts obscure deaths.
Mean Gene was the fabric of American culture.
I actually posted about him in a different forum. May God grant him peace and comfort.
i still have the 45 of Love Will Keep Us Together from when I was just a wee lad.
i am also quite shocked, but only that the good captain was still alive before today. So your hat may stay on your head.
Mean Gene passed ... may he rest in peace.
He was great ...... there was an innocence to it back then.
That's a risky thing to admit publicly.
Separate names with a comma.
