Starting QB thread

No matter your views on QB, it's sad that there is one particular poster on here who hates on Stidham so much that they are absolutely desperate to create a turnover where one didn't happen.
I’m clearly the only one saying it. Yes

Maybe cam isn’t THE problem but he’s certainly a problem.

THE problem is GM Bill setting up this team for failure with the draft whiffs over the last few years. Let’s hope that changes with this one.
Exactly. It's like a guy who sprains both ankles, then claims his right ankle can't be sprained because his left ankle hurts too.

Superman's playing style turned out to be his Kryptonite. Kinda sad.

No it’s more like a guy in a body cast saying “you know, if my wrist weren’t broken I’d be able to compete in the Olympics”. It’s just delusional and there’s too many things wrong to only call out one player.

Again it’s worth repeating, a non insignificant portion of this board was ready to call Brady washed. That doesn’t make Cam good, but it means replacing him is not the magic solution some people are making it out to be.

It should not be possible to have 5 passing TD's total going into the last week of the season, especially with how easy the rules have made passing now. But here we are

When has it been Bills style to throw a player under the bus to the media?
He could have said nothing. He pointed that the protection was not good and the receiver can’t catch! Basically he was saying that is everybody’s fault on offense except Cam

The days of Cam as an NFL starting QB throwing 300 or more passes a year are in the past, that’s for sure. I can’t see him agreeing to be a backup either.

But he is in great shape and could have the athleticism to switch positions if he can be convinced to do that and the Pats or some other team wants to use him that way. I don’t think the Pats offense would use a wildcat or dual specialist QB (like T. Hill for NO) but some team might.

We don’t need a RB but maybe Cam as a TE for us if he has the hands for it?

Replacing Cam is not the "magic solution," but it is a necessary precondition to any actual, feasible solution. He's washed up. Keeping him around is foolish. Rosterwise, he's a waste of (a) space. I genuinely feel sorry for the guy, I get the "charm" thing (I suppose), but that has no bearing at all on the work at hand.

Yeah, he'd be like another N'Keal Harry , only even slower, even more clueless as to how to play the position, and even less skilled at catching the d----d ball.

If only "statue" were a footbal position, he'd be ideal.

Didn’t think it was that easy to be worse than Harry but yikes...

The way a lot of people are dismissing the very real possibility that Cam will end up with another cheap 1 year deal as the vet QB option this offseason will lead to some pretty hilarious reaction posts.

Bill loves him so much that he could offer him a 3 year deal

And that’s why nobody is saying keep Cam. But the idea that there is a quick fix and Stidham might be it has been amongst the more desperate narratives we’ve seen on here. We had Brady last year. It was a necessary precondition to fix the receivers even then. Instead we skipped out on all of them and drafted two nobody TE’s

Let's start Stidham against the jets. Belichick wants Cam. Most of the team wants and supports Cam. But fans her have a right to see Stidham. Clearly that should be a deciding factor

Yep, no doubt. But there are people advocating keeping Cam, as profoundly weird, or masochistic, as that is.

You go bargain shopping at QB and bargain production is what you will get.

The "patriot way" of lowballing guys is over. Brady isn't walking through that door to cover up all the warts
That Patriots had no choice but to get low cost qb’s they had no cap space. If you don’t have cap space you can’t sign high end players. Plus they lost 9 players to covid, after the free agency period was essentially over. They had no idea if Brady was coming back this year, and when he decided not to they had to eat his dead cap money. So many stupid comments on this thread, most come from three posters, who shouldn’t be allowed to post.
